DUDE we live in Pakistan and Newegg Doesn't Ship to Pakistan So they Don't Rule they Sucks
Newegg just doesnt ship anything internationally. It's their company policy. You cant accuse a good service, just because they are based half way across the world from where you are. So they dont 'suck' just because they dont ship internationally. Please choose your words carefully next time.

Not to mention the quality of the card when it comes to companies like BFG.
Thats true as well....There's a LOT more variety in USA to choose from...Even UK doesnt come even close...

Nearly everyone get Kingston RAM for their gaming rigs in pakistan....If you tell someone in USA that, they will think ur a nut job (no offense meant)....Why ? Kingston RAM is simply not made for gaming PCs..:rip:

By the way, This is my 100th post....Yahoo !!! (1)(1)(1)(1)(1)

no one comes close to newegg, their service, reviews, price, shipping etc. is the best in USA

but there is one problem... if any hardware goes bad, u'll loose your money (if u don't have original warranty cards and company exists here)

yeah thats the main drawback when ur order stuff from the US......when it enters foreign territory, the warranty goes off the grid...=(..Then ur on ur own..

Fortunately, if anything goes wrong, u can still claim the warranty, *if* u can somehow get it back to US...

I had to take this risk too, knowing that my parent wud ground me for life if anything turned out bad...Fortunately, no such thing happened...at least nothing serious :p

The chipset fan on my mobo got burnt to hell as soon as I first started using my machine..But I was able to 'negotiate' with the manufacturers in USA, and I got a replacement for free, from all the way over here in Pakistan :)

thats an exceptional case..... skipping all these type of problems it is better to buy most stuff from local market.....

Zotac is the first one who dared to overclock the small D8P/G92 GPU on Geforce 8800GT cards to the sky high speed of 700MHz. We are pleased to announce that we have one of these AMP cards and the first results are much better than the results of the stock Geforce 8800GT. In the 3DMark 06 test it scores even better than the Geforce 8800GTX.

The card has 512MB of GDDR3 memory with 256bit memory interface, and comes with single-slot active cooling. It’s not exactly the reference card because Zotac added bigger fans and made some extra vents on the cooler surface for improved air flow.

The Shader clock on Zotac's AMP! Edition card comes in at an impressive 1700MHz, and memory also works at a strong 2000MHz.

i told u it will surpass 8800GTX when overclocked :D

I would also recommend this option when the price difference is not more than about 7000-8000 rupees...because of the warranty issue, and because of some other issues which I havent yet mentioned here :mushy:....

But when you are thinking of buying a new PC, with all of its stuff and components, u end up saving a LOT if you get that same stuff (if not better) from the US...

Like I said, I saved upto about 50,000-60,000 rupees this way (and I not joking!)....

The only main thing u gotta live with is no warranty......but look at it this way: Sure, there are faults in hardware sometimes, but the chance of that happening is about 2-3%...and if you take care of your equipment, it can run for years at end.....All PC components are quality products, and are meant to last a decently long time..

My old HP Pavilion 8550 Pentium 3 computer is still kicking ass till today... (1)..

Plus, while I was in the process of making my PC's configurations, I came across these custom PC manufacturer's, who not only make the PC according to your requirements (quite normal in the US), but also test the PC fully before dispatching it to you....They test all the hardware for any faults, and if there are, they replace it free of charge before it arrives at your doorstep....So this way you are guaranteed to recieve fully working products...Of course, they charge a little extra for this service though, and I didnt take this offer :p

OK, I think this topic might be sidekicking here now.... :mushy:...Sorry guys :)

i have been calling a few PC shops in RWP/ISB/LHR today...none of them currently have the 8800GT in stock...they are pretending that they dont even know of an '8800GT' model

Has anyone actually found a shop in Pakistan yet that is currently selling the 8800GT ? Preferably in ISB/RWP ?

Smoothly would depend on what type of settings and res you plan to run it on.

As for the card, lets say its almost as good as the GTX but a little slower.

See the benchmarks |HERE, |HERE and |HERE. Mind you, its still the demo, final version may see improvements.

OK, I went to the computer shops on Bank Road, Saddar, RWP to do some research

Regent Computers: Apparently, he didnt even believe me that nvidia has made an 8800GT, 'when there is the GTX already available'.....Anyways, after convincing him (sort of), he said that they recieve their stock every 15 days..and the previous stock arrived about 4-5 days ago from now. So we have to check up on him about another 10-11 days...

Wise Tech: The guy here (name was Kamran) said that he had contacted MSI on when the card will be released for the South East regions, and MSI had said that the South East version of the card will release in the end of December :frown: !!!

Future Tech: the guy here said that I should give him a call during the day, and he will check up the details for this card...

His contact details, in case someone else wants to try as well:

Ch. Arif Mahmood.......0300-8342295

So has anyone carried out a similar survey from other areas....?
