Good News, During an event held in Bello Horizonte, Brazil, Vinicius Costa Product Manager Nokia Brazil confirms a new UI update for old S60v5 devices in year 2012.
In event Nokia introduced its new MeeGo smartphone N9, Symbian Belle Nokia 701 followed by others devices like Nokia 500, C2-06 and X1-01. Marcelo Camara Director of Marketing Nokia and Vinicius Costa Product Manager Nokia – talked about the evolution of Symbian OS – Anna, Belle and the future update after Belle, Although they didn’t reveled the name or release date of this update, As you can see the “under construction” icon after Belle in the presentation image below.
On a question of future updateds for old S60v5 devices, Vinicius Costa Product Manager Nokia Brazil replied:
“Nokia will continue to support these devices, which will also receive an interface identical to that of Anna Symbian in 2012.
Although Vinicius Costa did not confirms the extent of this UI overhauling, but I am sure S60v5 devices were getting some Anna juice including new Icons. Now that’s really good news for Nokia users having old S60v5 devices. What do you guys think let us know in your comments.
