New Xbox360 Controller On The Way?

At yesterday’s Gamefest event in Seattle, Microsoft’s product unit manager, Robert S. Walker suggested that they might be creating an advanced version of the Xbox360 controller. The plan is to make the controller a second choice for gamers, instead of replacing the original one.
The new controller would have an improved and more precise right analog stick for games requiring higher precision, like first person shooters. The current 360 controller does a decent job in FPS games, although improving controls for console shooters is always welcome.

i think the current controller is serving the purpose quite well.
they shud've worked on the D-pad instead

The current controller is just fine . But it could use a few tweaks though . Such as they should make the analogue sticks bigger .

It actually does the best job at FPSs besides the KeyB mouse combo. Lets wait till E3, may be some more information about the "New" controller surface.

I wonder why the shifted place of left analog to up and D-pad to down!

yep,the d-pad is pretty tricky...but then again the analogue is surprisingly good for FPS games i've played a few FPS games on the 360 and the transition wasn't much of a problem i.e from a keyboard.IMO the controller is quite comfortable and forgiving on the hand and doesn't hurt your hands alot if you compare playing for a couple of hours with the ps2/3 controller.Besides,i also noticed that in racing games and games where you need to apple exact pressure on a button for control the trigger buttons are pretty useful apart from that it's pretty solid and can take up alotta abuse aswell.
