New TV Cable Connection Help

well guys as the title says i need to have a new cable connection for cable tv as i have shifted my house.
now i have heard there are variety of different cables available
i need ur suggestions regarding that which type and company cable to buy so have good picture quality as previously i was using ptcl smart tv
as far what i have heard cables are RG 6 and RG 11

and what about this cable digital hd channel box thing as the cable guy was saying that its going to be a compulsion from april 2016 on wards to buy that for 6000rs as per orders by pemra
is it true or a lame story by him?
