New PTCL Packages (free upgrades)

Surprised to not see a thread about these here. They haven't advertised it yet I suppose. Free upgrade from 8mb to 20mb, and so on.

You have to talk to the live chat to get your free upgrade. I got mine upgraded to 20mbps (even though my line doesn't support it). Getting 14ish right now.

I got upgraded from 8mb to 20mb for free. They called us for the free upgrade. Im getting around 15-17mbps.

it isnt an offer new 20mbps package is of same rate as of old 8mb, i think OP thought that was a Free Upgrade offer

It is not an offer but packages have been changed.
All previous packages from 8 MB and upward have changed and their pricing also changed.
I upgraded to 8MB on 26 March 2018 and then discovered this and upgraded to PTCL 20 MB for same price on 28 March 2018.
You have to call PTCL Helpline and tell them to upgrade it.

i think they are offering these packages because of rise in popularity of Transworld which is also offering 20 30 40 50 100 and so on for cheap and uncapped

Upload speed depends on whether you have VDSL available in your area. If not, it will be 1mb.

I asked to be upgraded via live chat and they did it there and then. Took less than 5 minutes.

That's weird. Cause I did the same as you, but the person in the live chat said that request needs to get approved first and then it will be upgraded. I asked how long will it take and he replied that it can take 24 hours.

yeah it isn't a free upgrade it's just their new packages transformed ones which have the same price as 8mb 2999rs and transformed packages are 2999rs for 20mb, so they just want you to get on 20mb instead of 10 etc...

I don't know why they are doing this to me then. Had another talk with the livechat and now they said they can't upgrade my 8MB to 20MB due to a 'systematical error'. Said I should follow-up after 48 hours.

Talked to ptcl representative he told me for 20MB bill will be 4K including taxes which were around 800 and for 10Mb bill will be around 2800 got my 4MB connection upgraded to 10MB and it took roughly 5 minutes and my connection upgraded

Good deal for you. I had to downgrade to 10mb because the line couldn't handle 20.
