need some info about wireless networking

hello guys

i need to know something about wireless networking its dificult for me to explain it in english so i will try to explain it in urdu...
masla ye hai k main ne apne doston k sath networking ki hue hai through normal LAN card agar main wireless LAN card loon aur mera dost jo mujh 4 ya 5 kilometers ke fasle pe rehta hai wo bhi antenna aur wireless LAn card le to humari networking ho jaye gi right???? to kia ye possible hai jo mere yahan dost hai wo mere hi wireless LAN card se mere us dost se connect ho jayen ya un sab ko bhi allag se wireless LAN card lena ho ga????
i know its bit confusing....

no its not confusing...

wireless will cost u a lot more and it can't go 4-5 km... and wires also can't go 4-5 km unless u install some routers, switches or some kind of amplifier coz signal will be too weak to reach there... bottom line... its not worth it, ask your LAN wala if he is available in your friend's area... only then u can do gaming

lol hell no, you can do that kind of wireless networking to support 4-5KM without using signal amps within the path and the whole setup will cost you more then you can even imagine so just forget about it for now..

Wireless networking is not cheap as u think....a single wireless network card cost u lot...

BTW thanx for ur reply,s actually my friends are tying to make a wireless network.....and they also said that are going to make the antenna too.....i dont have much knowledge about networking so i really dont know how it works......but they were saying that antenna will cost around 4-5 K and u should have to buy the wireless LAN card and thats all.

no way...a 5000rs antenna can't do 4-5 km... u'll need a tower a big booster for that, like FM amplifiers and towers

cost will be more than 1.5 Lakhs

And BTW, for setting a long range wireless network I think one also need a permit from the government for doing that as even the long range wireless sets are not allowed for the normal peoples..

I remember, once the police raided many PCOs which were using the long-range wireless phone-sets, as long range wireless can be used by terrorists too

i have a solution.

u dont need to have a wireless lan connection to play games on lan.
I hope u know about HAMACHI?????
its a software thru which u can play pirated games(as on lan) thru ur internet with ur distant friends.
there is a community of pakis from big huge games.
and their password and username is bighugegames or bighugegame.
