Need Guidance on buying a Gaming PC first time

Assalam O Aleikum fellows.

I have made up my mind to buy a Gaming PC. I'm looking for a used i5 (preferably 6th Gen) setup.

what i need is your guidance and any references if possible. I'm situated in Karachi and my best bet for a used Rig are the Computer markets of Technocity and Naz Plaza.

I have a limited budget and i can't afford to buy every part separately to build a PC from scratch. which is why I'm thinking of getting the bare-bones first (CPU+MOBO+RAM) and then save up a bit more to buy a GPU later on.

Now the issue is, i don't know any reference or trusted shops at either of the markets. additionally, I've heard that most shops there aren't to be trusted as they will mostly set you up with some defective hardware with a limited warranty time ( a week or two) and will refuse to exchange/return the faulty stuff.

I am looking for some guidance with regards to trusted sellers who can offer me a reliable used/refurbished PC at Technocity/Naz Plaza.

If someone can guide me about OR set me up with a trusted, reliable shop/seller in Technocity or Naz Plaza, i'd be grateful to them !

Also, when buying a refurbished PC, what telltale signs of defects should I look for in the rig ?

any further guidance is most welcome. ( I am looking to play latest AAA games with at least a stable 40+ FPS at 1080p, with all Graphics settings set to high mostly. Will turn down settings where i notice frames taking a bad dip)

@Yaxir Don't go for computer markets, they are dry now, go for GT STORE, I got very VERY nice experience with them, they have both online and offline (brick and mortar) store, super B customer care, fastest and very reliable deliver experience I got so far, plus they offer you return & exchange within 7 days, and for your very satisfaction, you can directly collect item from there office to check the commodity which is located at shahrah-e-faisal, just right behind baloch colony bridge. Will going to write an article upon my experience, but NO, don't go techno city, its dead now.

[MENTION=31782]maxold90[/MENTION] i browsed their website, but they don't have too many pre-built/slightly used or refurbished PCs in inventory.

plus i browsed them and they're VERY expensive. especially with GPU prices.

i'm not sure if they will be able to offer me something in my budget ...


also, can you tell me why Technocity is dead and dry now ? what happened there ?

@Yaxir Well due to $$ fluctuation most of good dealers don't have stock on hand and some of them left business already, so you will not get your desired item, instead you will goes shop to shop and got same answer, OUT OF STOCK.

As far as GTSTORE concern they have variety of items plus TRUST (and they also have MINING equipment :flame, yes some of their items are expensive which you can get alternatively from CZONE. Other then that I don't recommend online shops cause most of them are ... you know troublesome in case of claims and warranties.

that's horrific. that could mean that i won't be able to buy the PC i want, because most of these online retailers charge a premium.

i was hoping to get the GPU at a good price in technocity ... and a good i5 refurb/used system.
