Hello people,

I have a fairly old system now, about 6 years. Specs below:

MSI P67A-GD65
Core i5 2500K
GSkill 8gb 1600 Mhz
Samsung SSD 840 pro 256gb, WD black 2tb, WD black 1tb and a puny 160gb seagate barracuda (if i'm not mistaken about this one, its very very very old)
Gigabyte Gtx 1060 extreme.

So its been on the back of my head for sometime now that i might as well upgrade. But, is it worth it is the first question.

How much would i realistically look at getting for this setup? (The only components to be sold would be the mobo, processor and maybe the rams)

Third, what would i get after this?

My pc requirements aren't much. I use the system for gaming only (moderate gaming), playing Dota2, WOW and other games but not many.

Please advise.

Current specs already fulfilling the major portion of gaming requirement. Since you mention the games that really don't need any high end processor.
On the other hand, if you may think of keeping yourself updated with latest generation or at least closer, then you should upgrade the combo (MB+CPU), i'd say at least 4th generation platform.

By selling the Combo, you will get around 16K; however, you still need to add 4-5K more for featured, second hand mobo and an unlocked cpu.
From Skylake lineup, you could get i3 6100+mb in above arrangement (Brand New).

Finally, if you can't increase the budget, then you better stick with current system.
