Need Advice -UPS

Ok so im sick n tired of all this load shedding , effin my pc up

i have a 650w powersupply installed in my pc and a samsung p2270 lcd(pc specs u can check under my avatar)

i need to know , what kind of UPS will keep my pc running for about 30 mins after the light is gone ,

i saw APC ups on galaxy site, but i dont know jack shet bout ups's.



one more thing ,, can i replace the batteries that come with the ups to something diff to get more time ??

If you buy APC one for your PC, you will need big load of money.

and yes you can change batteries... but depends. I dont know how these APC ups's behave with 3 to 400amp truck batteries installed with them.

Just go with Mercury UPS, I am using Mercury Elite 650 Pro which i bought for Rs. 4500/- with one year warranty.
Its specifications tells (Backup Time - Typical 10mins to 18mins (depending on load),

Those wont give 30 mins ever. Custom made is the only option. With 200amp battery at least.

In custom made, make absolutely sure you get a Sine Wave complacent inverter (ups) These desi ups-es will damage your PSU.

If Dry Battery then go for Alpha Digital 1 KVA UPS. Price is around PKR 7000. Excellent performance and quality.

APC UPS are very expensive. Try to look for them in other shops besides Galaxy.

Also, focus upon my suggestion.

Alpha Digital 1 KVA UPS would be ideal pick, if you want a affordable Dry Battery UPS.

I second that. You'll probably find them under the name XPERT, its the same brand. Using it. No problems whatsoever. Used to have an APC earlier on but it was in a smaller size. 500VA.

Every single UPS I've deployed on the floor or in a rack have been simulated sine wave line interactive units and I have yet to have one fail.

That is by the one and only Sir jonnyGURU. So no need for some uber TRUE SINEWAVE!

Yeah was gonna go for the refurb APC 1.5KVA UPS available in the market, but had one fail on me, i returned though and have been considering buying one ever since. Since new is not affordable, I was thinking about buying another brand which would be equally reliable and efficient.

Alpha Digital havent heard of it before, heard of some deutsche power company being an equivalent? Is it available in Karachi? Who's the dealer want to check it out? Any warranty?

Disagree to the quote you've quoted. These Desi things mess up your stuff real bad. Have you ever even connected a UPS, the desi one, and a proper one, to an oscilloscope to actually see the wave?

10 or 12 months if i'm not mistaken. Galaxy deal in Alpha Digital. I'm sure many other places have stocked it too. But you wont find it under the name Alpha Digital anymore, instead, Xpert.

what?!, the backup time depends on the battery inside it, which you can change and increase battery time. To answer your question specifically I need an OnLine UPS Pure Sine Wave that should support the load of a 1KVA or 1.5KVA, and as i said the time can be extended by attaching a larger battery, so one with 2 3 mins will do too but it SHOULD support a load of 1-1.5 KVA without fluctuating when the Light goes off!.
