Hey guys whats up. So a friend of mine had this motherboard lying around and was told it was fried. Its an Intel DX58SO and supports the first gen i7. extreme series and xeon series processors. He told me it got fried due to fluctuation but on top of that he had to buy a new powersupply as well. The power supply was bought later on after he bought his new motherboard and tried to run it on that same fried powersupply and found out that the powersupply is not working as well. So what i think is the power supply was fried but the motherboard was still safe when that happened. Why i think that? a month ago i built this kid an i7 setup. His Specs are:
[h=3]Core i7 4790
8gb hyper X memory (2X4gb sticks)
Asus z97k motherboard
Thermaltake smart SE 530W psu
1tb seagate HD
Asus GTX 960 Strix
(inbox me for the price list of all the products if you want to)
So when it started to rain a while back her sister turned on the pc and at that moment the voltage went high and her pc turned off. Later on she could smell burnt
wiring and turns out the powersupply had fried. The little kid was afraid if the whole pc had fried cause he had just built it. So he brought it back at my place
and i checked each component individually and my doubt was right the powersupply only took the heat the rest of the components were working. So i think the
same happened with this motherboard. I did put it in my pc case and like plugged in the psu and everything and turns out the lights and everything on the motherboa-
-rd do power up and show its catching power. But it can't be turned on since its missing the heart. So if anyone is willing to help here and lives near clifton or defense
and owns a core i7 930 or 980 or something. Can you please show up with that processor and like let me test and check if this motherboard is alive. Cause if it is then
i will built me another pc. I love this motherboard's design and started to fangirl over it lol even though it is old as hell but yeah let me know. Inbox me if you are intere-
sted =)[/h]
