Dear Friends

I was running my PC with Antec 550w PSu, last Sunday it was behaving weirdly, first display was gone than my PC was not starting, I pulled out my GPU unplugged DVD Rom, Pulled out 4gb Ram, and Creative audigy 2 sound card, run it on the default VGA of my MoBo, after all I was able to start my PC, but again after some time display was gone, I thing its my PSU that is not giving enough power.

I have the following PC:

Core i3-3220
Intel Motherboard
12gb ram (8gb Kingston fury x 4gb corsair value select)
Gigabyte AMD 7750 GPU
1 SATA II hard drive 320gb

Get cooler master or corsair they are reliable but in low budget obviously capacitors will be cheaper than premium series. They cost a lot. Go with atleast 650 w that will future proof for system upgrade

Antec is a top notch brand when it comes to PSUs and are you sure it is the PSU that is at fault? Your total PC is hardly pulling 250W from the wall, try to get a 450W PSU , preferably Cooler Master V450 - it is a beast.

thanks for replying bro, a friend of mine said that you can also repair it from market, does that work ? another friend told me not to buy a used PSU ever, and buy a new 1 with warranty, does new PSU comes with warranty ? m not sure about it, cause one of my friend told me new PSU also don't have warranties.

Thanks for replying bro, My friend used to built PCs, he checked it last night and recommended that I should buy a New PSU, I don't know if its the PSU that is creating the issue, how can I check if my PSU is working fine ? and what do you think bro? what could be the issue other than PSU?

couple of things to check to make sure if its your PSU, Board, Processor (excluding the ram for now) or simply your faulty Wall mount/extension

1- Turn off surge protection feature of your Board in Bios (if available), if it works after that, get your wall mount/extention or main switch breakers checked

2- take out the processor and see if the pins/dots are blacken out coz of carbon/residue , if so clean it and your PC should boot fine

3- Switch Rams/ blow air into the ram slots/ clean ram heads if needed

if all fail, check your system with another PSU or your PSU on another system

It had better if you could check your system with some other PSU on loan basis before you buy a new one. What if transpires after buying a new PSU that it was actually motherboard on fault ? So it had better to properly identify the exact culprit before you invest money.

TFR, bro I will try it tonight and will tell you about the outcome.

Yes, you may try it without GPU first. If it works fine and system runs smoothly, than you can also attach GPU as 7750 need a very little power, may be 50-60W.
It had however better if you could mention make / model of the that PSU as well.

its an local Chinese made PSU not a popular brand, but still works i think, i shall try it without my GPU and with 1 stick ram, and see if it works..... :/

Bro, last night I tried the old PSU (Simbadda SP-ATX400RW 400W| AC INPUT :220VAC 60HZ | ORANGE=+3.3VDC/20A, RED=+5VDC/32A, WHITE= -5V/0.5A, YELLOW= +12VDC/16A, BLUE= -12VDC/0.5A, PURPLE= +5VSB/2A) I pulled out GPU, 8GB ram, my sound card unplugged DVD, and run it on my built in VGA, and start the PC, it ran for almost 40mins, than i decided to add GPU Also, after adding my GPU i start the PC again, it ran for half and hour, i watched a movie, but after half an hour, screen goes blank again, and i noticed a noisy fan spinning in my PC, i don't know what was that, so I manually shutdown my PC by long pressing the start button, after a min, i start my PC again but this time my GPU's fan was not spinning with no Display, I shutdown and pulled out GPU and start again and it ran smoothly for half an hour, after that I shutdown the PC,

I don't know whats is wrong with my PC, what could be the issue? :/

No one can give you an exact answer but everyone will be telling something on the basis of his past experience.

Probably a power issue, your PSU might not be extending due juice.

This seems dangerous. Might have killed the GPU.
:(

:/ could it be a heat issue in CPU? cuase i heard a fan spinning too fast after display goes blank... !!

did you monitor your CPU temps while it stayed on? if not use hardware monitor cpuid.com and see if temps go high right before the display goes off

no i didn't monitor the temps, i'll check the temperature, today, bro is there a chance that my GPU or the PCIx slot could be faulty ?

Well I checked the Motherboard's capacitors if there is any kind of bulge but it was fine, but i thing I forget to mentioned problem occurred, when I switch on the extension button on the electrical board on my wall, i heard a little sparks m not sure if they were coming from my PC or the electrical extension, but to make sure I checked my PC I looked very closely and carefully every thing seems fine to me, may be it was just a fluctuation or because of loose switch, but the problem came right after this happened, display goes blank in the middle of approaching my desktop and login, after that I switched off from the start button after that My PC didn't start properly.

dont think so its your GPU since your PC ran for 40min without it, as i pointed out earlier about your extentions, could be nothing but a lose Negative joint/wire in your wall mount/switch/main switch breakers/extention etc hence the PC going nutts, ran into exactly same issue as yours a while back on my second PC when i'd lose display and such, some tightning, pushing and pulling and few hits and slaps on the wall mount fixed it for me

however the exact similar issue came back after a month or so(thats 2 days back), but this time it wasnt the wires or extensions or switches, ram or PSU, no processor heat issue either or anything, simply a dirty processor from the inside, how it got carbon residue built up inside it is something i still cant swallow, when i was done trying out everything else from different extentions, cleaning, blowing air, switching rams, trying different PSUs, i ended up trying a different processor which i had laying around for years and system booted up just fine, when i turned my proc around it was literally black, after rubbing the carbon off placed it back in and system is on for past 3 days without an issue

just saying, two exact same symptoms but totally different workaround did the fix, you'v got to narrow it down yourself maybe try the steps?

TfR, bro, last night i run my pc on its default vga, and watched a movie for an hour, no problem, i think the problem is related with my old PSU or could be with my 3D card, i will check these 2 things on my friends PC as soon as he is available he is out of city right now. till then m going to wait, oh yes, I was trying to install my built in VGA drivers on my PC it was giving errors, like failed to install one or more device drivers, i Have Intel DH77KC motherboard, So its another issue, i'll download drivers again and will try tonight. let see what happen thn... !!

Problem is with MY 3D card or my Motherboard, cause whenever I try to run my PC with my 3D card on, it acts weird, sometimes won't start and sometimes blank screen in the middle of something, I also checked the PC with another PSU 580w, it ran for 30 mins then restarts on its own, after another try, same thing happend, 3rd time when I start there was a minor movement in PSU and 3rd Card and CPU, but it didn't start, after trying these things, pulled out the 3D card and everything runs smoothly without it,

Means problem was not with the PSUs and mine is fine, that is so, now further more I can't Install the built in Intel HD graphic drivers, errors, seriously WTH common, it say failed to install one or more device drivers, I downloaded latest drivers from Intel website also but still the same, kindly if any one know the solution share it .. :/ should I re-install the windows ?

For the 3d Card i will check it on another PC of a friend of mine ..... if that works it means that my Motherboard is the culprit... !! :sorry:

After so many days of checking in detail, finally i found the culprit, it was my 3d Card, checked my friends 3d Card on my PC worked smoothly for almost 4 hours, then we checked mine on his PC and yes .. it was faulty, anyways, I have used it for 3 plus years played high end games, last game i was plying was Far Cry 4.

it served me well and it was an excellent performer, I think its because of my excessive use of it, I used it too much, I think if I have had taken good care of it would last long.

Thanks for your help guys........
