So my first ever true gaming rig. After browsing and researching, I finalized on building complete Skylake and forgo the option of 4th generation. Wasn't getting good deals on 4th generation so decided to screw it and go Skylake.

This is what I came up with. I want to 'trim the fat' but don't know where. Also, are the prices good? I will be sourcing from different sites. Haven't visited any shops locally to check if there are better deals. But from the intel I gathered from @monster_blood , the prices in shops is ironically higher.

Anyways,

i5 6500
22200
Gigabyte G1.Sniper B7 Intel B150 Socket 1151 11500
RipJaw
8699
Seagate 1tb
5700
Seasmonic 500W2000
CaseCom VS94 Middle Tower PC Case
2800
SSD REMOVED :(
Dell Ultra Sharp10500
Total63399
Red indicate brand new 'pin pack' from e-commerce sites

My budget is like 1 lac but wanna have absolute BANG FOR THE BUCK. Don't wanna overkill by buying absolute latest cards whose resale value drops harder then a nuke dropping in Hiroshima. Willing to let go SSD in favor of making it more 'budget' type and give cash for better GPU. GPU like for 25-30k.

Is the casing good? What is a good GPU to go with it?

Secondly, kinda double minded about SSD. Should I install it on my desktop or laptop? I feel it will make more sense to install it on my laptop with optical drive bay caddy for SSD. *only* reason why I think getting it on PC would be better is that a PG member said OS wrecks the HDD. I don't want the HDD to fail. From the past 3 laptops and 1 desktop we owned, going back atleast 10 years, none of the HDD failed. One decade old HDD is quite unstable but it works. Mixed feeling about the claim :/

The motherboard you have chosen is available in Pakistan with ddr 3 support only.

As you have a1 lac rupees budget I suggest you go for a ddr 4 motherboard and ram as skylake really takes advantage of it.

Ahh, lol. I thought you meant brand new and I was like either that's a typo or he's mistaken :p

Anyways, nice monitor not for gaming but your overall experience will be good. Good luck with your build.

What do you mean not good for gaming? If you are referring to 144ghz monitor? I honestly don't care. I'm happy with 30-sub 50fps :p

No, I'm referring to the resolution. I didn't even bother to look it's refresh rate as I assume it's 60hz?

But if you can get 1920x1080 proper resolution with right aspect ratio then you shouldn't have any issues.

Don't try to game on 1920x1200, even though it's more in resolution but it'll kill the experience but then again once you have it you can do a comparison yourself one by one as your mileage may vary.

Also always look for refresh rate, input lag in your monitor as well.

You don't want a monitor that performs like TV when you're doing PC Gaming but true gaming monitors can get costly.

PakDukaan.com recently imported some gaming monitors, take a look as their pricing was minimal than what was offered locally which was minimal to nothing.
DSM1 can shed some more light on it as he's the one dealing with them.

This monitor looks okish. Buy BenQ 19.5" DL2020 LED Monitor - Black in Pakistan But man, really wanted to get 24inch one. I have a feelin 19.5 monitor is small. Isn't 24inch the golden size for 1080p screen? The 24inch one cost 19k. :/

Do you know any good computer shop in ISB? I should window shop once before deciding where to buy from.

[NBA] "Budget" Skylake Build

Buy monitor once, invest wisely and since you don't plan to game on 1440p or 4K just yet, this one should be good for you for years to come InshaAllah.

Save up and buy quality, trust me on that.

megaloden The 19.5" is a basic budget monitor. UmerF linked the proper gaming one.

Shieetttt nigga.. That monitor spec look awesome but the price. Do these monitors really make a huge difference? I'm not into competitive FPS gaming or even online. That Benq monitor doesn't seem to be IPS panel.

Came back like an hour ago from Dubai Plaza in Pindi and checked some rates. 24 inch 1080p screens are going like for 8k and 21inch for 4k. The real reason why I want to go for bigger screen is the productivity factor. I'm just going to cut corner with the screen and get simple 1080p. Maybe in 3-4 months time jab dil bar jaye ga, I'll spend a bit extra on the screen. I would want to see it for myself in real life if there is any difference between screens.

Regarding GPU, I've made my mind up for r9 280x. Is the power supply good to go with it? It's 500Watt.

You can't get a brand new IPS Panel which is also a gaming monitor under 20k, not from a reputable brands like Acer, BenQ, ASUS, Samsung and LG etc therefore if you want then buy something like 1080p for 8k if you can't save up and add more but to answer your question, yes. It does make a HUGE difference in gaming, but it's all subjective at the end of the day where certain people can't tell the difference between 30hz and 60hz, let alone 75, 100, 120, 144 and beyond.

While the one I listed isn't top of the line, it's the best entry level gaming monitor at this price. You can look at some Amazon reviews here: http://www.amazon.com/BenQ-RL2240HE-21-5-Inch-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B00JTB7J9Q and not to mention the price offered locally by DSM1 is very nice as compared to Amazon pricing which is rare to get in a country like ours.

But then again, if you think you can cut it with a simple 24" screen for work and overall work then by all means go for it, I mainly suggested this monitor because of your build being gaming oriented primarily and that's the only reason why otherwise just get any 1080p monitor to give you display and get what you get out of it :)
I'd have to look into GPU specs and what not but 500w might be sufficient enough, not sure about your build but I like to keep my stuff future proof in case if I add other stuff that require more power but since you're on a budget and if this PSU can run all that you're planning to get then you should be good. Do check the PSU requirement on manufacturer page for the GPU that you're gonna buy before deciding on PSU though.

Once again, good luck with your build.

holy shieet!! the monitor looks WICKED. oh god... going to finalize on building the CPU first.. might pull the trigger.
