Atlast i got some time to reinstall my watercooling system after a fair bit of problems.

this is the fourth build with this water cooling system.
more about it can be found from here
http://wccftech.com/forum/overclock...eaking/17183-post-ur-watercooling-system.html

Atlast i got some time to reinstall my watercooling system after a fair bit of problems.

pic of my first build

first it was installed in a 3800x2 system with an xfx 8600gt
next a e2160, p5k-vm and the same 8600gt
then a q6600, 680iLT, 2 x 9600gt in sli

and finally, now, with a q6600, maximus formula, 2 gb dhx and 2 gb xms2 pro ram and a diamond hd 4850.

i purchased the watecooling stuff from US last december and here are its specs:-
cpu block: d-tek fusion ----------------------$54

chipset block: swiftech mcw30 (not using as the block doveloped an 'irreperable leak, in its delring top) --------------------------------------------------$19

gpu block: aqauextreme mx-1 and swiftech mcw60r (which im using now) ---------------$39

pump: swiftech mcp655-b @1200lph, 3.1m head - and without speed control. -------------------------------------------------------------$70

radiator: swiftech mcr-320qp 3x120mm with 1/2" metal barbs- ---------------------------------$54 + $2.5
tubing is a mixture of clearflex pvc tubing, and locally available pvc tubing
coolant used is car radiator coolant with de-ionized water

The remaining specs of my pc:-
processor- q660 g0
motherboard- asus maximus formula
ram- 2 x 1gb corsair xms2 pro 800mhz (with real time led activity display)
2 x 1gb corsair xms2 dhx 800mhz
gpu- diamond hd4850

fans- 5 x logisys red led fans @65cfm
3 x delta ffc series fans @ 200cfm
2 x 4cm fans directly mounted on the nothbridge heatsink
subeamtech 7 x fan speed controller, 3 x temp sensors
logisys- dual 12" UV ccfl

casing- coolermaster cm690
psu- coolermaster extreme power 600w psu to power the main components
generic psu to power the fans, fan controller and cold cathodes
here are the pics:-

pic of the pc before the mod/ installation of the watercooling system. notice that the radiator is mounted at the top. this is usually where i used to mount the radiator and the main reason why i bought this casing as it can house a 3 x 12cm radiator inside. this time around it won't be in the same location!

the components:-

the monsterous delta 12cm ffc fan which can blow a massive up 22cfm of air (and consume 24w)

the ram with the tv tuner and the stock cooler off the 4850

the hd4850 with the water blocks installed; top:- with the aquaextreme water bolck, bottom:- with the swiftech mcw60r which i will be using

the dtek fusion waterblock on top of the motherboard with 2 x 4cm fans installed on the northbridge heatsink

the waterblocks

swiftech mcp655 pump opened

components stripped out from my current system

the radiator was first installed with 3 delta ffc fans mounted on top of it

next the psu, pump and reservoir were installed.
the waterblocks were placed to estimate the piping route. i had to make sure that the bends were not too tight as it could 'pinch' the tubing before cutting and routing the pipes.

the fans were installed in the top and front. the motherboard, and 4850 were installed with the waterblocks to create a mockup. the tubing was then cut as required and clamped and then the motherboard and graphics card were removed so that leak testing could be carried out.

then the system was leak tested. all joints were covered in tissue paper to detect any leakage. when a leak was found the pipe clamps were adjusted till there was no leakage. the pump was left running for about 10 hours to be sure there was no leakage in the system.

and finally the system was assembled. first the motherboard, gpu, ram and other expansion cards followed by the hard disks, uv lights, dvd drive, fan controller etc. pics of the assembled system:-

its alive!

xms2 pro ram with their real-time led activity display

and now for some uv reactive fun!

well i got the delta fans from a dealer in china. i bought them in a large quantity. i also posted a for sale thread for them.

then i think you have some other ram. check the fourth pic.

corsair has three xms2 series ram sub categories:
1, xms2 - the normal one with the black heatsink with pink corsair stickers
2, xms2 dhx - the one with the grey heat sink and fins protuding from the top
3, xms2 pro - the ones with grey heatsink and activity leds.

the leds show amount of ram being utilized of the dimm (by amount of stationary lights)
read/ write data rate and amount by changing light patterns on the memory stick. if you notice there are two rows of lights on each memory stick (one for read and the other for write)

thanks for the input.

setting it up was only one part.

getting the time to sit down, upload a gazillion pics and then publish them in one loooooooooong post was the hard part

nomi can you post some more bench marks so we can see wether to spend 18k on q6600 or to include this amount to purhcase a better processor

over clocking results can be seen in the last two pics.

temps for the q6600 dropped from around 60c load @ 2.4ghz to 42c @3.75ghz

and for the 4850 from 70c @625mhz core to 30c @ 700mhz

temps fell by about 40c for the graphics card and around 28c (comparing stock speed temps) fro the q6600!!
