Its Chinese. Neither android, nor from Google. Although it does the job of playing media content to you tv. Not bad at all, just like another media player.

It actually is Android ! But you have to control it with a remote ! And its Android 4.0 (ICS) ... Don't buy it anyways as its a wastage of money !

If your sole purpose is to download movies and play it on your HDTV, SDTV, just buy a simple media player. Don't know about chinese ones, but czone does sell it under Media Players section. Asus O!Play mini costs Rs.5.5k while WDTV Live costs around Rs.10kish.

If you can arrange ordering from abroad, you can easily get similar Media Player for easy 45$.

I'm using one, and it's just charming.
