Thing is, there's no sure way to behead an orc. Sometimes an execution finisher results in a stab through the chest. The head explosion may be the best way. I've only done that to one orc though . I read on kotaku that if you see a pile of bones in the army screen instead of a body, the orc is finally dead. A body indicates he might still be resurrected.
Edit: Till now though, there's no sure way to ensure in combat that a dead orc stays dead.

[h=2]Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor gets a photo mode — let's see your Orc decapitations[/h]

An update released today for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Monolith's Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor adds a new photo mode to the game, letting players to take custom screenshots of Talion slicing up orcs, collecting flowers, riding Graugs and more.

Once enabled, players can stop the action at (almost) any time to snap a photo with a click of the left analog stick. Players have good control of the camera and settings like zoom, distance and depth of field. Photo mode lets budding Middle-earth photographers apply filters to warm and cool scenes, add film grain, textures and other visual effects as well as overlay borders and logos.

yeah I noticed, some of the felled uruks come back. WTF?!
If you kill an orc by beheading him then he won't come back but if you just kill him normally then he'll eventually be resurrected, that's how the system works. The way to recognize this is by looking at Sauron's army screen, if you see a dead body of orc lying on it's location then he will comeback but if you see an effigy with his head on a spike then it's gone for good and will be replaced by another orc when time passes on. In plain language this is the way to kill

Yeah, but you dont get to choose the finishing move. Talion may use his wraith-finisher to kill a warchief/captain but it doesn't smash their skulls like it does with normal uruks, or he may behead them, in which case they are gone for good.
I will end this game by weekend. The experience has been a good one so far, but they could have showed more in the story, could've introduced more characters/things we're fimilar to from the lore, and the music is kinda dull. Nowhere near as good as LoTR or Hobbit OST. LOTR OST breaks my heart every time I hear it.

This is the first time I did this thing that is I uninstalled the game because it was very difficult and I was totally confused between weather to play the Red Mission or the Yellow Mission. I tried to kill may warlocks but instead they kill me every time no matter how hard I try. So today after continuously playing for more than 3 hours I got frustrated and uninstalled and deleted the game setup. But now im regretting it that I had asked you guys first which mission should i'd prefer Yellow Signs once or the Red Sign Missions.

^You should've upgraded your sword etc with the upgrades first then started on missions, even tho i havent done any mission yet but i'm enjoying the game by just picking fights with the creatures scattered, upgrading my sword and powers along the way.

I was Facing the same issue you faced, Mate you need to first clear white and Red missions which will help in powering up Talion after that go for yellow missions

Finished the game. Here's what I think: The ending was rushed, and less intense. The final boss battle was pathetic. Story was original, and good, but could have been explained better. Music wasn't awesome. Nemesis system was amazing, though sometimes less rewarding. Overall a good game. 8/10.

Spoiler: show
I didn't understand where the game fits in Middle-Earth chronicles though. I think it fits before hobbit and LoTR, and somewhere after the fall of Morgoth

You start by building power. Killing random Uruks and gaining experiance points. Then you go for either a yellow or red mission. The first few missions should be easy as the developers know that you aren't as powerful, so you should finish these missions and gain experiance. Running directly into a battleground, or fort or training ground will surely get you killed. Just try taking out random Uruk parties. Gain intel about the first row of Uruks in Sauron's army, and eliminate them. They drop runes and your weapon's power increase. The progressing system is much like Assassin's Creed and batman. You should not face any difficulty.

is it worth buying right now..I am thinking of waiting for a couple of months
its singleplayer so depends totally on the person. If you have NOTHING else to play right now and are a huge Tolkien fan you should definitely get it..if you have some other games, you can play those and buy this with the season pass once the story DLC is out

Started out the game last night, at the start when the game tried to shove all the things at once it became a bit hard to understand and I kept pressing the continue button to get to the game to start. Coming from a game like Destiny which is pick up and play kinda model this was difficult to adjust to.

Started fights with the Captains which wasn't able to win as they brought hordes upon hordes enemies which became increasingly hard for a starter to deal with, died about 3 times.

The fourth time I took down three Captains, two of which I had already killed....wft? Why do they keep coming back? Do I have perform some execution to get rid of them?

This is the the exact same issue I have with this game. I am 2 hours into the game and I am still confused as shit. Or idk, I may be just dumb.

My thoughts exactly. This game is just like any other action game. You can't just jump into a horde and perform an Uruk massacre. Level up before doing anything.
