MULTI Mass Effect 3 : Extended Cut DLC Announced -- Summer Release -- Free

Remember the controversial ending of Mass Effect 3 and all the protests and campaigns against it (Including the cupcake campaign). It looks like Bioware is taking it seriously and today they announced a new DLC that will provide more "closure and clarity" to an otherwise unclear ending and it is free of charge.

In their attempt to calm the fans down Bioware co-founder Ray Muzyka gave hope to players and promised that they will work on "game content initiatives" in an open letter

Bioware aims to protect the integrity of story but they also want to satisfy their fans, this puts them in an interesting but difficult position, only this DLC can tell how well they handled it.

I'm glad BioWare didn't give in to "change the ending" cries of the internet. "Extended epilogue" is the right way to.

I hope they clarify EVERYTHING with these. I cannot believe we have to wait a few months to experience the true ending to Mass Effect 3. They might as well have delayed the retail game.

I am a fan of the series. A huge one. and for one, the first time, I didn't liked the ending. At all. Considered it a mindfuck and nothing more.
But the indoctrination theory provides all the answers to the ending. Sure, there are other things, many things, that were left untold, but the ending makes sense

Personally I don't mind a sad ending, not every game can have "They lived happily ever after" kind of ending but cliffhangers are the worst, since ME3 is the last part of Shepard's story cliffhangers are just punishing. If they want to make it sad then make it completely sad but don't leave cliffhangers for God's sake lol.

EDIT: Players also claim that if EA didn't have pushed Bioware to introduce multiplayer then they could have made a proper ending and I kind of agree with them, I like ME3 Multiplayer myself but if it affects single player then there is no need for multiplayer... Just make a complete game lol.

And things like these further prove how sloppy Bioware was in finishing the single player part. To be honest they completely messed up some areas.

i dunno why bioware wants to end the ME franchise... Its the kind of a series fans want to be milked to death!... and bioware just wants to end it!...<_<...

Bioware is not ending the ME franchise they are only ending Shepard's story, they will make ME4 but you won't find Shepard in it. I think they will make a new story (with new protagonist) in same universe.

Bioware even talked about the future of IP, here

Yeah I think that whatever they will provide now, it has already been spoiled for me. Its sad that I read 300 pages of indoc theory thread on Bioware forums lol...

I'd imagine it plays over the course of the ending, the game makes a hard save when you're entering
