I was wondering whether G2 (D800 model only)is still a viable phone.Since, there have been all sorts of crap stories lately reported by some users. What other options i have that has an atleast adequate dev support?

I guess you have better choices now. Go for LG G3, slightly expensive, somewhere around 18-19k, but worth it.

If you're on a budget, Lg g2 is more than enough. If money is not not an issue than go for LG g3 f460 that runs Snapdragon 805 & has 4g lte support. There are already lots of sellers selling that model for 19-20k.

If you are a budget then buy an amazon fire phone... same chipset(sd800) and for 10k brand new... is a better deal possible than that? i don't think so(the camera and speakers/battery etc are all very good if you install cm11 on it)...

The screen of LG G2 can skip between registering touches sometimes after it gets hot. Happened to a friend.

For a compact full packed phone G2 is the best option but has alot of problems stated in various threads all over this forum.

Specs wise, it's pretty good. A Snapdragon 800 device for less than 15k.

However, every single G2 in the market right now has been tampered with. I'm not even joking, every single one.
They have been refurbished, modded and the casings/housings have been changed to different colors/variants.
It's a great device, but I wouldn't even recommend it to my worst enemy, considering the headache it gives you when you go home and start using it.

Try getting yourself a Nexus 5 or something, better dev support and also a Snapdragon 800. A D820 version can be had for 14-17k depending on condition.
