Guys, here is my two cents on the broadband situation with PTCL.

Broadband in Pakistan is generally horrendous for online gamers. Services here cater to only the casual internet user. The reason PTCL won't be catering to your demands for internet services as a gamer is because there aren't enough of us to significantly impact PTCL's earnings. You have to realise that at the end of the day, PTCL is here to do business and make money, not to cater to your individual requirements. They will not be spending Tens of Thousands of Crores of rupees to revamp their system and infrastructure just so maybe a handful of gamers can benefit. Keep in mind, there are upwards of a few million internet users in the country. Gamers don't even make up half a percent of that total user base. Rest assured they are aware of the problem that gamers face but unless we make a massive chunk (and i mean huge) of their users, enough to impact earnings for them, they will not be lifting a finger.

PTA has some set of rules why they dont imply on Ptcl. Also that ptcl has been giving 3G devives even before the 3g auction and it also didnt participated in the bidding.

So ??? Obviously its being favoured by government.

uh lol...

1. There were no "3G auctions". The term 3G is not trademarked property.
2. Wireless bandwidth is a scarce resource; the 2014 auctions were for spectrum allocation.
3. More specifically, the 2014 auctions were for Cellular Mobile Telephony Services which PTCL does not offer.
4. However, PTCL did acquire the license for Wireless Local Loop (WLL) for 450MHz, 479MHz, 1.9GHz and 3.5GHz bands in an auction... in August 2004. Yes, 12 years ago.

News of 2004 auction:
WLL auction complete, bids raise PRs15 bil - Telecompaper
Govt starts auction of WLL licences - Telecompaper

here is the list of all wireless licenses issued by PTA: http://www.pta.gov.pk/media/master_list_wireless_issued_200116.pdf
here is the list of all WLL providers licensed by PTA: http://www.pta.gov.pk/media/master_wll_list_070915.pdf
here is a complete breakdown of frequency allocation by PTA: http://www.pta.gov.pk/media/Pakistan_Table_of_Frequency_Allocations.pdf
here's a list of who owns which frequency bands as per their licenses: Spectrum Allocation for Wireless/Fixed/ Mobile Telephony

educate yourself. stop spreading misinformation.

The thing is , if gather at a platform we can make a difference , there is already competition in each city . TES , connect , storm fiber in karachi , Fiberlink in lahore , nayatel in isb and rawalpindi.
the thing we need is unity , do not cry on separate thread , make a community and talk to PTCL.
