hey PG,
i wanted to know whether there exists such a thing as 'learners license'? o_O
and if it does, where can i get one? im sick and tired of listening to my law-abiding relatives and how i shouldn't be out on the roads without a license. im 17 now, so i heard you can get one of them at 17? is that true?
details please!!
thanks

In Karachi u get Learner's Permit @18 Years after ur NIC is made
After 3 Months u can apply for a Full License

I think Islamabad will have the same procedure as i doubt they will allow under 18 Drivers especially since the Traffic Police there is strict

Unlike Karachi 50Rs pakrao aur chal mera bhai (sm1)

Yup. I am from Islamabad and i can confirm that it's the same procedure as karachi :p. It's hassle-free procedure, but you need to be 18 atleast.

Well the 'legal' system is you get your NIC, go and apply for a learners license. They take a pic and give you the license with a 3? month period. Next you go to their test centers after the learners period is over and give the test. After that, they give you the Computerized License :D I've heard there are methods to avoid the test too, but why not just give it? Why not make a change? And you guessed right. The method is money. Also, earlier on the learners period could be avoided with money, but now since its all computerized you HAVE to have 3 months of learners license no matter how old you are (yes, even if your dad goes to apply for a new, computerized license despite having an old paper one, he'll have to go through the same process)
