ISPs in Bahria Town Phase 4

Hello everyone,

I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

So here's the thing. I've been a proud user of Transworld Home Internet Services for the past two years and absolutely commend their services but now, I have to move to Bahria Town Phase 4. Here's the situation:

1. There's no NayaTel
2. There's no Transworld.
3. There's no VDSL technology available for PTCL. I called their customer care to order and they said they'll do a feasibility study first. Apparently, it wasn't feasible enough.
4. The only option I have given a thought about is from a company called "WayLink" if anyone can shed some light on it. They're using Ubiquit's hardware and P2P technology to give services.

I could really use some good advice and best possible way to go about this from everyone. Should I settle for Zong's 4G portable device or check WayLink's services or do what exactly? Any help would be appreciated.

Nayatel hasn't expanded to Phase 4 yet, but I reckon they will continue their Bahria expansion soon.

Transworld was digging up the streets in front of Arena and near PSO, so I assume they will also be available there soon. Call them and find out.

PTCL doesn't offer VDSL anywhere in Bahria, but they do offer GPON in Phase 4. Go to the exchange and ask if GPON is available in your street. Meet Hassan from the GPON team and ask him to confirm availability.

Then place your order and they will set it up at your house. No need for feasibility studies.

I looked into the feasibility of getting a P2P setup a few years back before Bahria had a choice of multiple ISPs. I reached out to COMSATS and they came back with a very expensive proposal of around 11k/month for 6 Mbps. I was already getting a very unreliable 8 Mbps from PTCL at the time for much less, so I didn't bother pursuing it. Plus, they use the ISM band and there's tons of interference in Bahria, especially in Phase 4 near the grid station.

WayLink is very vague about what they offer on the website, their packages don't even have promised speeds. Plus, Bahria doesn't seem to be in their coverage area anyway.


TL;DR - Give Transworld a call and drop by the PTCL exchange in Civic Center.

Thanks for a detailed response. I got in touch with the senior manager of sales in PTCL Exchange Civic center and he was mentioning a 25 MB package but the availability had to be checked. Nothing about GPON though.

Just for the sake of discussion, is P2P implementation reliable performance and connectivity wise? If we compare it to conventional fiber connection?

Transworld and Nayatel, as of now, have no services in phase 4. Confirmed today.

If he was offering 25 Mbps, it has to be GPON. Sales guys aren't the smartest when it comes to this stuff. Confirm at the exchange again by meeting Hassan or anyone else from the GPON team about availability in your street.

25 Mbps is impossible on standard ADSL lines and as I said, PTCL doesn't offer VDSL anywhere in Bahria Phase 1-6.

P2P is reliable, for low speed connections (below 50 Mbps), you should get consistent speed most of the time. However, depending on how well they've optimized antenna placement and what band they're using, you may have high latency which is not a problem with fiber.
