my cpu was idling around 43 and 55 on load on stock......just to check i overclocked my cpu from 266 fsb to 400 on the stock heatsink and ran 3dmark03 to check the increase in score........the score was even less than the stock and temp was around 80 degree........i have restored the stock speed but temp is higher than before.....idling at 49 and 66 at load :rip:

What to do now?i know it was stupid :crying:

hehehe lolzzzz dude ,you should always be careful before doing stuff like that but if you cant help yourself then paste a giant sticker on your system unit saying

"You Killed Me And Wasted My acha khasa 2-4years of like by making me smoke"

lol dude you should restore all the settings in the bios and restore the cpu core voltage n all and check the temp of the cpu core .

Dont try that again ,

u don't make big jumps in overclocking (266-400 directly)... ur CPU isn't dead, do some prime95 test on stock speeds on each core... if any of the tests fail (i doubt it will), then return the CPU... otherwise remove the heatsink, clean it up, reapply thermal paste and stick it again to mobo (donot remove CPU)...

i ran prime95.....as soon as i start the test the temp jumps from 47 to 57 and then increses slowly.....becomes static at 68....

use CPUz and check weather ur PCI X slot is running on 16x or 1x, i think it is running on 1x
its 16x on cpuz bro

i dont believe you achieved that on stock heatsink......intel ppl must have put another heatsink by mistake or as a gift in ur cpu box (1)

so the problem with 3dmark03 or with all gaming? try to reinstall/update ur vga drivers,

temp. of prime 95 is ok,

also benchmark ur cpu with "sisandra" or "everest" and compare ur result with similar cpu's,

my dear i was running e6300 as i said, with no AC at room last summer,

i figured it out.....it was the front 80mm fan which i had disconnected.....as soon as i plugged it the temp become normal as they were before 44 at idle, 55 at games,3dmark etc and 64 at prime95 stress......but its weird the front fan effects the temp even though the side case is open  .....khair any ways i will try to keep the vcore at 1.1 manually and chek the temps.....1.1 vcore is enough for e6400 right?

enable " intel speed step" with some other options in Bios, it will automatically reduce cpu volt ,
set cpu volt to auto,

1.1 volt may be enough for small applications, but for gaming and other heavy applications 1.1 v is not enough

Did y'all see the new Assassin's Creed trailer? They finally made a AC set in Japan & then they put a negro as the male protagonist. Ubisoft is taking cues from Disney, and it isn't gonna end well for them, just like Disney. Go woke, go broke!

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
