Assalam,
I just got an HTC one m7, slightly used. It's from Sprint.
Thing is, when I got it, and inserted my local Sim card it worked well, till the time I updated it. After having updated it once, it simply said: 'Invalid Sim Card: Contact Customer Support'.
I'd like to add that I used a normal warid GSM Sim card. Not an LTE ready one.
It did pick up the sim because it asked for the PIN code whenever I inserted thw Sim inside it. But it wouldn't pick up any signals and there would just be this message, with an icon of course: " Invalid Sim Card: Contact Customer Support".
I updated it again, since updates were available and it was on the outdated jellybean. After about 5 updates, it's now on sense 6.0 and Android Lollipop 5.0.2 but the problem still persists.
Also, when I factory reset it it showed the Sprint set up configuration thingy(Hands Free Activation) and it said it couldn't connect to the network and that I had to change to CDMA to do so. I've tried changing the mobile data type to GSM/UMTS only. And it still would give the error.
Is there an issue with the device having not been fully unlocked?
Or could it be an issue with my Sim card? I did try a friends micro Sim card (U-Fone) and it would still display the same error.
Any help regarding this would be most useful.
Regards,
Skywalker

it seems like your device is locked again..if so, then you'll need an unlock code to unlock it again.
Contact the person who sold you this device to ask if he has the unlock code used to unlock this Device.

Another thing, does any notification appears when you insert your sim card(Like your device is locked etc?)

I think there are codes to enter that hidden menu..But try clicking on the notification which comes after inserting sim card..I think it'll take you to the unlock code entering menu

Could this be done from some tutorial online? On XDA maybe?
Or is the code unique or something?

Whenever I insert the Sim, it asks for the pin first and then it says 'Invalid Card: Contact Support'. No menu or anything comes up. :/
I'll try this imei thing on the link though.
P.S: Thanks for your time and help.

It could be a problem with the SIM card or SIM jacket too(Very unlikely cos your sim was working when you first got this phone)..Try different sim cards though to be sure and do a factory reset as well if you haven't done it already.

No problem brother :)

Just tried the unlock through imei option on that last link.
It redirects to some products/services for the unlocking which are worth 7-9£.

Your phone might be carrier locked. Or the Sim jack might have been damaged while removing the Sim card. Take it to a repairing guy. Tell him to check the cellphone thoroughly or Contact Riz For unlocking the phone.

Can it still be the case that the Sim tray is damaged even if it asks for the pin code every time? I doubt it. Also, it says invalid Sim card. Not 'No Sim Card'.
The other thing though, in my experience, would include procuring an unlock code right?
