My questions are pretty basic

1: Do inverters really affect electricity bills?
2: which brand to get, which are long lasting and good quality?
3: I saw an inverter which functioned as a heater as well, is that a good option?
4: what are the prices for 1.5 and 2 tons.

Thanks

Also thinking of doing this and have asked some relatives who are using. They have recommended Gree and Acson (Gree is cheaper I think).

They also suggest changing only those AC's you use the most...like the ones in bedrooms.

gree is the best and they are the most expensive i've heard from the lot.. haier and others might be cheaper but gree is the one to get.

Yes they do make the difference.

Acson, Daikin, Mitsubishi, samsung are all high end brands and offcourse they are most reliable. But I am using Haier Inverter AC 1.5 ton and it works fine. you can go for haier it will cost you around 70k with installation and everything.

There are ACs which provide an option for heating also. Even the one I am using has one. But I have never used that option myself.

I can tell you that the after sales service from Kenwood is absolutely zero. I'm just trying to get a picture or PDF or even explanation of how to set the timer function on the Kenwood ePrime inverter (misplaced my manual!). Many many calls and no one is prepared to offer any help. I dread what would happen if I had an electric problem.

1) yes, it does
2) Gree is a good choice but it depends on ur budget as well
3) yes, it is .. I've been using Kenwood Inverter since July 2019 and it has heater function but mine one heater function starts making noise after 10 minutes whenever I turn it on (don't know y) and i have to shut it as soon as it starts making noise
4) better visit near AC market to get latest/current price

go for t3 compressor one if you want functionality in extreme heat. Dawlance has one T3 with I believe 12 year compressor warranty it is 1.5 ton though
