hey can anybody guide me, Im kind of lost on LT3

So I got an Xbox 360 slim today and the shopkeeper said it had LT3. I have no Idea what that is except knowing that its modified can someone please explain it to me in layman terms. Also the important question I was wondering if I can connect to live so I can calibrate the account I have on my windows phone. when I try to connect it asks to update, should I go through with it ? is it safe

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey mate,

I have done a little market 'research' and here are some things you need to know about Lt 3.0. Firstly LT 3.0 is the newest 'MOD' that is available. Before that it was Lt 2.0.

If you buy DVDs from market, pirated ones (malaysian). Make sure you DO NOT buy these games as they will not run on LT 3.0. They need old firmware Lt 2.0. Or you can check the cover if it specifically mentions LT 3.0, otherwise avoid these.

all those games work fine on LT3.0 as long as one doesn't install them...but once u do install them,they wont boot.for that u need games burned on LT-MAX format which can ONLY be played on LT3.0 fw.

Truncated burn is another thing. Basically the games in the list are not patched for LT 3.0 on most Malaysian disks. I might be wrong in some cases.

lets clear one misconception.there is NO PATCH for LT3.0 games,LT3.0 games aka LT-MAX games are actually 100% verified burns while LT2.0 ones are truncated ones.one can play both types on a LT3.0 modded console but to utilize the install feature,one needs LT-MAX games.

^wrong there mate ... LT3.0 requires all xdg3 and ap25 games to be patched with topology data in order to run on LT3 .. so LT3 games cant be run on LT2 and LT2 games cant be run on LT3

I am guessing this is because the torrents we download are already patched to LT+ 3.0?

all latest games come prepatched to LT3 on torrents ... all old games have to be patched .. so games that came during the time of LT2 will have to be patched with topology

Yes that is what I was saying [MENTION=2128]faizy[/MENTION]. The guy in the middle seemed confused lol.

But the games that are needed to be re-patched with LT 3.0 are XDG3 and AP 2.5 games only. Other older games just run fine like RED DEAD REDEMPTION, HALO 3 etc.

thanks guys much appreciated, I uninstalled assasins creed revalations, arkham city & gears of war 3, and now well I can play them. No luck with fable 3, or battlefield 3.

On a sidenote whats the point of LT 3.0 other than playing pirated games, can i actually go play online ? :O

playing online is never safe on a pirated console .... But before applying that update make absolutely sure ur console is flashed to LT 3.0 ....

I've been going Live with my modded console and haven't had any problems yet. [there is a 70% chance of getting banned though]. So, If you want to go Live so badly, then just do it. [and then Hope to God that MS doesn't teabag the crap out of your Xbox ]
