Help What is the safe temp for 6970

what is the safe temp for 6970 ati his i saw while i was playing just cause 2 for like 2 hours my gpu wat at 89 and fan is auto and if i use amd overdrive and set the fan to 50% it never goes up than 70 ???

and on few games while fan at 50 it never goes up than 65 60 and its idling at 45- 50 and my room is quite hot

Anything below 80 should be fine; even for long use. I would advise you to install MSI Afterburner and set your own fan profile if you want it to run ever cooler.

Make A Smooth Curve In MSI Afterburner.....Like 50 Degree = 50 % Fan

70% = 70% Fan.....Works Great This Way

i think i have a dust in my fan i will try to clean it with a blower and thanks guys i will install msi afterburner and will ask if i didnt understand anything

Use a blower and set custom fan profile... U can even use 100% fan speed on gaming.. although it wud make a bit of noise but usually with speakers on ull begin to ignore it...

its better to keep it till 70% fan speed its the best for most of the cards..
and ur temps will be okay..!!!

A Small Dirt Won't Do Any Harm........Simply Use Tooth Brush with Soft hands To Get Rid of It..........!! Avoid Unwanted Contact With Your Card......!! What I Have Learn Is Too Much Cleaning Won't Do Any Good But Sometimes Can Result In Opposite Way....So No Need To Clean It Unless Until It Requires To Be Cleaned....!!

using msi afterburner is a good idea to control temp as suggested by all

I too am using it with my 6950.... and temp remains around 70 with gaming for long periods... with auto fan, it used to touch around 80 and more... My PC resides in a non-airconditioned room... temps will fall significantly in winters with auto fan speed I guess

Yaar Its Easy ....Just Adjust The Curve Using Dots Like On 50 Temo Make Fan 50%...On 70 Degree Make It 70...So It Will Make A Smooth Straight Curve Going Upward...!!

Brother below 80 or 85 everything is fine with ATI card.my frnd have 6790 and it goes 82 83 these days.
