Help Me to cut Side Panel!!!

hey guys, i want to cut my side panel top put acrylic or glass.
somebody please tell me that how to cut it with tools available locally.
plz demonstrate with pics if u have.

well this is what i am going to do

first of all
put masking tape around the side panel
with pencil outline the cutting part
go to a welder or do it with a plasma cutter..
after it is cut sand paper it
and then paint it black(that the colour of my case)
after that go to a bookstore(zamil store ) here get tthe acrylic peice cut for the required size
and then past it using elfu,superglu or whatever(if i can find both sided tape then it would be superbd..
and u if u want a more cleaner lok get the rubber sides
the oen which are used on the side dorr..
a rubber wire with one side cut so that it can fill the side of cutted case..
go se shajeel rig in the modded section he hasd done the same...
more over if cathodes are your choice..light up the casew with the cathodes.

well i wanted to share some thoughts wid you and also want to thank shujawasti for praisin but i m neva an expert i m jus a modder whose skills r jus normal. And ya the procedure dat susman said its the best way to do it wid a plasma cutter but as it might not be available in PK or it might be really expensive.
1: u can go to d welder and tell him to cut it wid, i dont know its exact name, but its like plasma cutter and it has dat container of oxygen and methane wid it wid make a very pointy fire.
hahahah wat did i say man look at ma words lol.
ok but the matter wid is is dat u loose the paint job and also hav d chances of d whole side panel being curled coz of imense heat.
2: the other method is to do it wid a metal cutting rotary tool dat all d metal workers use but dey dont cut really precisely and d edges wud also not be gud enuf.
3: the best way is to find someone who has a dremel and a jigsaw, dis is d official way to do it. u can do any possible design wid it wid a lot of precesion. Nw all might think dat as i hav d dremel i m praisin my job. but no its jus a guide.

^ he's gonna be using a dremel now. and lol @ 'pointy fire'.

well susman and ali pretty much summed it up. be careful with the metal worker's rotary tool, its not accurate at all, and can ruin the edges of the cut. but its the most easily available method to cut a case. make sure you cover up the case with masking tape or the rotary tool might ruin the uncut parts.

Well I can tell you that I was looking for a dremel as well. You can rent ALOT of tools from Canada... but to the major store I went, the guy told me they don't usually give dremels for rent so I guess I'll be buying one...althought he did tell me that I could use a metal grinder with a sharp blade to cut the case...but I never heard about it so I didn't rent it just like that...a basic dremel isn't that expensive. About $30-$40...good ones costs over $70.

bro i use a dremel rite nw. and a jigsaw is also a cutter which cuts straightly or in a curved design but it cant do small detalings and its only used for cuttin, while d dremel can do lots of things and make as many designs as u want once u hav d rite bits.
@necrokiller, bro dere are series of dremel ,nw mostly d 300 and 400 series are new. And ya d dremel 300 series costs around 75-85$ but that is not d only thing u gona need coz if u wanna buy its high quality cutting bits , engravin bits etc then i shud tell u dat sometimes only an engravin tool costs 6-7 dollars and u dont need on of dem so dese things+dremel cost wud take u to around 130-150$ if u are buyin genuine dremel tools.
@theDarkDisciple, lol bro, ya MR AFQ be damn damn damn cautious wen u doin it by metal workers coz dey dont care of d case's paint or d edges dey jus cut the thing out. before doin it ask him clearly if he can do it and also tell him to take care wid d paint and d egdes.u shud tell him to do it from back of d panel so as to avoid scratches on d front and even if d metal pieces *** to front after cuttin den it wont be hard to remove. it can b done wid a file.

Its not that expensive as you stated if you look at the right places. I know coz I just came back from the shop. The genuine Dremel 300 with 41 accessories is $80...and that covers the sanding tubes and the metal cutters and what not. But buying it just for a one time application isn't worth it.

wen i saw dat it has got lots of cuttin tools i got amazed and got it. but the cuttin tools dat r n it r for plastic and r not reinforced dere fore wen i cutted a metal sheet of abt 15cm parameter abt 8-9 of its cuttin tools were melted as butter. i hav asked for d 426b cutter pack from ma bro in germany and dere dis costed 20 euros on amazon.com

I don't know. Everywhere I looked online mostly all of the people have suggested a Dremel to cut the metal.... but in the shops alll employees tell me that its not meant to cut metal. Maybe you applied too much pressure on yours? You're not suppose to cut the metal in one go. You are suppose to do it twice atleast as it makes the cutting easier on the tool and for your precision as well.

Which one have you used for cutting the side panel? Should I get the Dremel 300 then?

No bro i havnt got d dremel for 20Euros its jus d 20pieces 426b cutting bits,well ya its not for cuttin big metal pieces as a side panel, its meant to cut metal but of smalll parameteres but if u hav d rite dremel bits den u can cut wid its and ya by not applyin much pressure and letttin d dremel do d job. For side panels u need a jigsaw but as it only works for straight line cuttin most go for d dremel. But keep in mind dat even if u buy a jigsaw u hav to hav a dremel to make d first cut(a hole for d jigsaw) after which u can use d jigsaw.

well susman i wud suggest u to go transparent bcoz i had once used blue but it totally changed d colour of everythin when u looked inside it. Transparent on d other hand is really gud also for clearity and it looks better.

I had my CM690's side window cut by the local metal worker's rotary tool. didnt tape the thing, so the uncut parts were absolutely ruined. i put a few coats of acyrlic lacquer spray paint on the thing, and now because of the acrylic's shine, it looks better than it was originally. point is, if u dont cover the case with masking tape before cutting it, it will most certainly get ruined. i still have very uneven edges, which is why i needed the rubber strips from you.

ya dats rite bro, the first time i did d side panel mod i also went to a metal worker and dat is d only reason i m usin d rubber linins for ma window too. My paint was also screwed up so i had to do a new paint job. and
@ MR AFQ u shud go for d acrylic coz its lighter and doesnt break easily, glass wudnt look kewl on it although its really cheaper

so just go to some welder
