Well it will "run" games but it really isn't optimal for it.
Go for the 8600 series cards from nvidia they perform better than this.

ok guys thanks for replying first of all
yaar i have doubts about power supply is a 500W enough for Intel's mobo G33FB and E6750 + 8600 Gpu
will it be enough
and which of 8600 should i get and from which company i mean
XFX or Inno3D

these are XFX one's :
GeForce 8600GTS 256MB (128-BITS)
12800.00
PCX 8600GT
GeForce 8600GT 256MB (128-BITS) FATIL1TY
10000.00
PCX 8600GT
GeForce 8600GT 256MB (128-BITS)
8900.00

and these are Inno3D one's :
PCX 8600GT
GeForce 8600GT 256MB (128-BITS) DDR-III I-CHILL LITE
9500.00
PCX 8600GT
GeForce 8600GT 512MB (128-BITS) DDR-III
10200.00
PCX 8600GT
GeForce 8600GT 256MB (128-BITS) DDR-III
7900.00

and 512 mb will it make any difference

get XFX GF8600GTS or Inno 3D 8600GT 512MB, yes memory does make a difference... 500W will just be enough for your system to run... if u want reliability then get atleast 550W

who said ATI 2600xt cant do AA ??
Now with the new drivers there have been huge performance increase in HD 2600xt , with very little frames drop with AA.

Now 2600 xt even beat or comes close to 8600gts in most games. It totally kills the 8600gt .
Anyways , if u want 8600gt then buy INNO3D 8600gt I-CHILL-LITE .
It has the fastest clock speeds ( more than XFX fatality ) .
Dontt buy 512mb card. Its a waste. 8600gt is a 128-bit card. it will never ever use its 512mb . it will be big waste of money.

Here is good referance between 512 and 256 mb cards working on 128bit interface .

^ ahem... the performance of 2600XT is poor when AA is on at high res.

and more mem. is always an advantage, as it allows more textures... try GRAW2 or strategy games with 256mb and 512mb card

i know but with new drivers the performance of 2600xt has greatly increased.

I know the AA makes a lot of difference but NOT in the case of 8600gt ,
Its a midrange card with only 128 bit interface. The extra memory is gonna go waste. This crad will never ever utilize the full 512 mb.
Its just to attract customers.

chek the link i povided.
