hd vs sd digital set top box

i got a few queries regarding the notification by PEMRA of switching analogue off by 30th sep
the local cable services are proving digital set top boxes for 6k rs and some 250 channels
now my query z whats the diff between sd and hd digital set top box and how to know which one i will get ?
what about the warranty on these boxes and can 1 box be used on 2 tvs in 2 separate rooms?
my location is satellite town rawalpindi and the cable service z satellite link cable they cover murree road and saddar area

the diff between sd and hd digital set top box is simple the HD set top box will provide you with HD channels like Tensports HD, Star Sports Hd or almost any channel that has HD version available, while the sd will provide you with digital channels that are no longer available in analogue cable network.

how to know which one i will get? Well you should conslut this with cable provider, a simple sd set top box will cost around 6K excluding the monthly 200 or 300rs charges. While the HD set top box like Dish tv or tata Hd set top box cost over 11K and their monthly fee is between 1K to 1.5K depending on no of channels.

but i would suggest you to go for sd set top box as currently the HD set top box would have not more than 30 HD channels & the rest will sd channels(same as sd top box).
