I just looked on gamesystemrequirements and the minimal requirements there are the following:

Minimum System Requirements:
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 3.2 GHz, AMD Athlon 3500+
RAM: 1 GiByte (Windows XP), 1.5 GiByte (Windows Vista)
VGA: Ati Radeon 1800XT, Shader Model 3, 256 MiByte or Nvidia Geforce 6800, Shader Model 3, 256 MiByte

These are INSANELY high for minimum and recommended specs.
That min rig could run all multiplats at 1080p. Recommended ones are like TWO slightly faster versions of my card in ONE system.

Is this a sign of a horribly optimized engine? coz the visuals don't exactly justify these specs. Either way... not looking good for console versions either.

8800GTX is much more powerful than the GPU in X360. If the game is coded so badly that it requires 8800GTX as minimum than you can forget about a good console port.

Errr..why are you looking at wikipedia and "other sites" in the first place ? These requirements are straight from the OFFICIAL website of the game as posted in the OP...sheesh...Here i'll post the link again

Edit: Just checked the official forums and a moderator there is saying these requirements may have been erroneously posted, lets wait and see.

I am still wondering what marketing n00b posted it on the site too, but I can tell you they're wrong. And not only because someone told me so.
The specifications of the latest update are nothing but a freak response to some hotshot's reporter being a techno-n00b. That story of late turned out to be processor specific and Spellbound is on it. There are systems below the 'current' minimum specs that run it fine on high details from what I've been told.

Arey merey bhai dont you think 8800 gtx for minimum settings is a bit too high and gtx 295 for recommended? is that a joke?

I doubt even crysis 2 would be such hardware eating game.

The requirements are quite strange but its the official site, wikipedia etc are not official. But as i said a mod is saying these may be changed, don't know what's up with all that.
