This is awesome. A friend of mine is part of the team from his uni (Foundation University) assisting in this event. I'm actually planning on going too, even though I'm not a developer or have much knowledge in that area. :p

Sole gamer or not, we need to promote the hell out of this. The founder of PixelArt Games has personal ties with Irrational games. And the founder of irrational games is also on the advisory team of PixelArt.

If Pakistani audience shows up in large numbers, this will warrant more events of such nature in the future.

Yeah. I mean Ken Levine is gonna be there (AFAIK). How awesome is that.

I was dead-set on going, BUT the issue is entry price. At first I thought it would be free and you would only need to register online, or maybe will have a small fee, but I checked it and it's a lot. Rs 5000 for students and Rs 7000 for professionals. I mean with those costs, I don't think many people will show up, other than developers and students planning on doing game development in the future. For someone like me, who just wanted to go and see, that ain't viable.

I think the price is reasonable considering the standard it's gonna have . Such events are never free , even IGN convention is costly for some people despite of being an entertainment exhibit rather than more industry work focused

the speakers in our conference are the guys who are the most cited authors and some of the biggest game devs..without a single rs for anyone.

Gamescom's cheapest tickets are cheaper than 5K

the thing is, while I am super happy for this thing, the price will make sure that only a select few will be able to attend. This price range is simply too high for any middle class person to attend. Industry is not driven by a few privileged elites, but by a number of middle class people.

I'm not saying make them free, but a more reasonable price would surely help.

Considering the dynamics of Pakistan, 5K entry fee for a student is way too much, for professionals it's fine but if I look back at my student era..5K was a pretty hefty amount, we need to promote and build awareness here so such events should cost lesser for the students, anyway I hope they will organize such events in other cities as well.
