Update: Day 9 - Service is as shiet as can be. Streaming is almost impossible and pings are higher than they should be. Worst is the packet loss/spiking during playing any games.

Fiberlink might say it's a FTTH service, but it's far lower quality than a nearby-market-cable wala (such as Connect). At least you are in touch with the dealer and can fix issues with haste or simply disconnect the wire.

Day 11: Everything seems to be more or less the same: No gaming (Packet loss) and no streaming possible (on Twitch.tv and in the evening even YouTube). From about 3:00 am to 12:00 am everything works better, but there are still some random spikes hidden in there.

Had a word with their team yesterday whereby they said they would communicate with Transworld and try to resolve it. The issue though lies internally; my theory is congestion on their limited ip pool and consequently their choked routing. Let's see what they can do, if they can even do it.

@StrikerX , can you shed some light on this issue? In short, loads of packet loss on Fiberlink, especially during peak hours. When at the same time TES and similar networks work fine.

EDIT: Download/upload speeds are fine at all times. Latencies only go up for a few hours during the evening, otherwise remain fine as well.

Congestion or failing/bad equipment, my money's on congestion.

Anyone using the 20Mbps or 10Mbps near Sector G-8, ISB? can you post speed tests and pings.

How much taxes are applied on both these packages?

How is the speed using IDM, Torrents, (Privates as well), downtimes, does it work during Load Shedding if device is connected on UPS?

I'm looking for better up speed (need it for torrenting). If yes, should I from PTCL 8MB to F2H?

Looking forward to the reply :)

Update Day 18:

+ Service seem to be getting way smoother over the last 2 days. Pings have been stabilizing/consistent and live-streaming (Twitch.tv) has been decent even during peak hours.

+ Downloads/uploads great as always. No quarrels on this matter to begin with.

- A few minor disconnects of a few minutes during random timings (day or night). Not a game-breaker, but definitely annoying. (Max 3-4 disconnects within 24 hours).

Let's hope Fiberlink can keep this up.

Update Day 19:

False alarm, everything back to shit again. Disconnecting every hour for a few minutes. Aka gaming impossible. Streaming cannot be done on lowest settings either.

I have messaged Fiberlink on their whatsapp number regarding this disconnection issue. But to no avail as of yet. If I do call them they say 'abhi check karein, sir'...

My final update will be Day 30, upon which I will reflect how a typical month of Fiberlink actually is. So Far, 3-4 days out of 19 days have been really good. The rest are worse than a dsl connection.

Edit: Quick update

Update Day 21:

Net went down at 12:30 am and came back up at 9:00 am. Pings to EU have been doubled/tripled (300ms).
As always Transworld was blamed instead of their own routing. I have worldcall and a friend has TES (TW based); they both have the usual 120-140 ms to EU.

Streaming on Twitch.tv impossible on Fiberlink even on the lowest settings.
I also got a PTCL reconnect offer of 4 MBPS installed yesterday. I am watching streams on the highest quality without a hiccup.

Yeah I heard TES is better but a bit expensive too. Still though I am looking for something to replace my PTCL in Rawalpindi. You guys in Khi are lucky to have all kind of services ranging from cable net to fiber link but we here in Rwp are stuck.
I beg to differ. Most of these services (including TES and Fiberlink) are available in just a few small neighbourhoods of KHI. The rest of the city has to suffer at the hands of PTCL.
Then there are people like me where even ptcl isn't available, yes in khi. I have to live on wireless connections :(

That means they brought 2 lines from outside and joined them through the splicer machine onto the ont correct ? Or they upgraded your line ? What's the cost ?

Most probably just increased my line rate in their equipment. Took like two hours after I called. Its roughly 4600/mo incl taxes.

The speed is bait! Unless you mindlessly download a few TBs worth of stuff every other day; it's insane in that sense.

Anyway, it's turukee nonetheless! Congrats!
I rarely play any games and ever since netflix launched i don't download from torrents anymore. But hey, fast internet is fast internet.

Update Day 23:

Good news! I just had a word with a senior Fiberlink guy, after I wrote a long emo mail regarding disconnection and refunding. I've Known him since I was a corporate customer (2011+).

He said that starting next month (1st Feb onwards), they are going to be upping their service and pings + live streaming are going to be better (consistently low without spikes) than ever.

He did not specify how they would achieve this - Bandwidth purchase, or bandwidth from a different pipe, or simple an ip-pool/routing change - but he seemed confident in what lay ahead.

Let's see what they can conjure.

Huh I was told something similar today but I dismissed it as a "bahana" used by customer support. My browsing has been super slow for the last week or so (it has never been so bad). Let's see how it goes. inb4 price hike

To be honest, I think it's too good to be true as well. But no harm in giving them one last chance.

Best case scenario, faith in FL restored and many more months/years of subscription.
Worst case scenario, I'll know to never trust the company again.

I was wondering what ping you get to India via Fiberlink?
WinMTR results. Afaik these are the dota servers.

The pings can probably be fixed via routing (given that TW has some control over it), but the packet loss is a different story.
