PC FEAR 2: Your experience

The best part int the game is the sequence in which u control the mech but the worst part it is. its dam to short and i maybe they should had made it a bit longer.

without it also we can manage...and it was too short..so no fun in it

I am referring to the old FEAR here. The so-called horror scenes came ocassionally while in FEAR 2 they come more frequently..... I think that the intensity of the game is the same for both. Only the frequency is greater in the second one...... And by the way it has much better physics...

so this is a FEAR 2 thread, but i don't think anyone will mind me posting my first time FEAR 1 impressions here ..

basically i've gotten up till "Interval 6" and i don't get it, why does the game get so much praise ? its incredibly shitty, i'm running through extremely repetitive enviroments, the graphics aren't that good, and the touted up AI isn't that smart (playing it on normal difficulty).

The game has good scares, like this one time i was near a ladder, and i pressed the action button, and when my character turned around to step on the ladder, the girl was standing right behind me !.

i almost crapped my pants.

maybe x360 version different from pc but still it gr8 game n graphic was awesome

FEAR 1 was released on PC in 2005, before this generation of consoles. It was released in PS2 era and got so much praise because there wasn't anything better at the time.

I just played the game for a while today....!
Graphics are average but looks good coz of the environment and the grainy effect....!
Gameplay is good i just love shooting enemies with automatic smg, the effects are good....!
I also liked the game sound....!
And FEAR factor is a bit less though its FEAR 2....!
Overall good game....!

finished it last week...was a great experience....a couple of nice and very interesting weapons added....slow motion rocks... but game is fairly short and u dnt get to use all ur weapons and slow-mo...tht much....over all it was great...8/10

A really cool game...online play is awesome. (on steam servers...its free).
Had slightly higher expectations from the graphs, but all in all I was'nt disappointed in any aspect.

Oh by the by....if u really wanna enjoy the game...turn the damn lights off and use slow-mo to the bare minimum cuz only then u'll see the true potential of the A.I

As everyone said...the game didnt stand upto expectations.
Graphics : 7/10 very granny,no details, bad lightnings
sound: 8/10 k not dat scarry
gameplay: 7/10 not intresting, geting bored after 30min play
the main problem is the gameplay,. It doesnt feel like u r playing fps game....feels like u r like 20kg,, doesnt have the weight like cod4 or crysis have....
Overall 7/10 is solid for it

I finished it on pc couple of days ago. it was disappointment. Considering it was developed from the same developers who did No one lives forever and fear 1. in both of these game they set the bar high and fear 2 was not even true sequel, it was more like a expansion with different environment. There was not even more enemy variety, same enemies over and over again. for me it was 6/10. i hope their next project is something to look forward to.

I think FEAR 1 was better - this doesn't have enough of that punch needed to keep up with the times. It's in a different setting and everything, the weapons feel great too and its definitely scary, but still so old-school and linear. After games like far cry, and crysis this just seems pale in comparison. Sure the AI is amazing and I've never seen a computer enemy get up and limp away into cover after they've been shot, but there's nothing else to impress.
