I have the exact same settings.I tried to crank up the AI levels but it became completely unforgiving seeing as I tend to make a mistake every now and then. It is a really addictive game though man.I'm playing with lotus and the Torro Rosso cars I just hate because they seem really fast compared to lotus.Anyways, I had the hardest time in the Australian GP. Man, whenever I tried to push harder I ended up making a mistake and in the last three laps it started to rain while I was on the option tires. It was hell man.I agree.
What are your settings at the moment?
I think I have driver AI set on the third setting (legend I think), driving line set to corners only (full for practice to learn maps), fuel and damage simulation on in full, traction control full, abs on.
I'm playing on a keyboard though and it's really horrible. Need to get some cash together and get a good enough gamepad so I can try it with traction control off. With the keyboard it's impossible driving with TC even on medium. You end up spinning off every bloody curb.
oh, and bloody hell Monaco scared the shit out of me. What an unbelievably unforgiving track.
Hahahaha yeah I had them turned off but then I realised that it is completely insane to turn em off.I use a couple of em every race.It was the same thing in dirt so I kinda was hoping they were here as well.Dude, you are right. You have to brake really early in the melbourne course otherwise you get fucked. And dude, it becomes insane when you start lower on the grid. It becomes totally messed up. A lotta time I get slapped by frikking penalties and stuff. Man is there anyway we can play this online. It'd be amazing to play with another F1 fan because it seems that we two are the only F1 fans on the forum. Btw I have yet to play in Singapore or Monaco for that matter.Really busy these days but damn, this game is addictive as hell man.mzain90, I haven't played Singapore yet but man Monaco is scary. If you try to drive in the first person camera view, it is frightening to see the barriers and everything so close and moving so fast. One tiny mistake and boom, you spin or your speed drops 30-40 kph and you're fucked. Apparently Singapore is even worse for this!
@grimreaper, I'm genuinely thinking of rolling back the damage. It's a bit ridiculous how easy you can get punctures too, and with my keyboard I'm not good enough to post brilliant qualifying times (most of the time, anyawy) so I can start higher up the field and avoid the inevitable clusterfucks at turn 1!
I like Melbourne! I did awesome on that track. Just remember to break early. When you're into a corner and you get the orange colour on the racing line, break hard. Don't wait till the red to break hard. If you break early you'll avoid making a lot of mistakes and you can get on the power early. Plus you end up driving 'cleaner' and your tyres suffer a lot less as a result.
Btw, do you know of flashbacks? I just realized they exist and they're awesome
Playing a codemasters game for the first time are we?Btw, do you know of flashbacks? I just realized they exist and they're awesome
Yeah, I kinda noticed that you were using 'break' instead of 'brake'. Dude, I just have two flashbacks enabled and I usually get to use one in the first lap because of the damned traffic. Anyways, man have you noticed that when you start from the grid the cars behind you have a tendency to overtake you in a jiffy.I have to bloody well block them to retain the position but excessive blocking and you get flagged. Bloody hell what is up with that. Dude, last night I was playing the malaysian GP and I got to Q2. I think the fastest time posted was something like 1:37 and I got a time of 1:39.545,so I keep on running the car since Q2 has very little time and finally I get my shit going, having an awesome lap, fast in every sector from my previous time by a substantial time so really happy,in my heart going HELLLSSS YEEAAAAAHHHHH last turn and guess what happens,my car starts stuttering and sputtering.Turns out I was bloody well out of FUEL. I MEAN GOD DAMN.......I was so frikking pissed.Anyways, qualified 13th with the lotus. And come rain or shine I don't think there is ANYWAY an HRT car can be faster than a lotus or maybe that's just me. And in the race 4 laps in I get a frikking puncture.I mean what the hell is with the stupid punctures. So,I pit in and one lap later it starts to pour heavily and I have to pit in again.I was so pissed it ain't even funny. Man I can't wait to play this game with another person. It is going to be sweet.Yeah we have our usual hamachi based 'illegal' ways to play it - kind of the same way we played dirt 2 online if you ever did? I'm busy for a week too but Sunday onwards I have around two weeks off so we should definitely try to have a go then (I'll PM you and we can set something up if that's fine with you).
Also, I just realized i wrote 'break' instead of 'brake' in my last post every single time FFS.
the penalties man the penalties. OH and the invalidated qualifying/practice laps. You go slightly off curb or slightly cut a corner and BOOM, your awesome qualifying lap is invalidated. bastard marshalls!
In terms of car setup, I very rarely try to set it up properly myself, cause whenever I do there's always something wrong. The last time I did it I thought it was doing really well and then halfway through the lap I realized that I had very little downforce and my car was oversteering like MAD. So usually I just let the engineer do the proper setting up (as in gear ratios and front/back wing balance). I do however set my car up in the engineer > wet/dry/adaptable wala stuff - where you're given a choice but you don't do it detailed. If you're getting my drift.
Acha, btw, flashbacks. When you're racing, and lets say you've just crashed, or you've gone really wide on a corner. Instead of restarting the race, what you can do it is pause the game and go into instant replay. Once you're there, you'll see an option for the F12 button. That's called a Flashback. If you rewind the replay to the last known good position you'd like to be in, and you press F12 there, then you can start from that position and avoid the crash or brake early and avoid going wide. It's pretty awesome because I found myself restarting races cause I was being incredibly stupid or aggressive. This kind of prevents that, but you still have to be careful cause you only have 3-4 flashbacks depending on the difficulty setting.
I'm playing Valencia now and seriously, no matter what I do, I cannot post a fast time on the track. I'm not going wide or crashing but I'm easily 3-4 seconds off the pace, which is retarded slow in F1 terms.
Basically what happens in F1 is that you have three practice sessions, the first session (P1) occurs after the initial scrutineering of the cars. The second session (P2) happens in the same day in the afternoon and the third (P3) happens before the race. After that you have three qualifying sessions (Q1,Q2,Q3). The top 17 go into the second session and the top 10 go into the final shootout. However,if you make it to the last session it is mandatory that the same tires be used at the start of the race that were used to set your fastest time in Q3. So that's the gist of it. You can turn practice sessions off by changing the race weekend length to short at the start of the race man.Hope that clarified something up.Playing a codemasters game for the first time are we?
Anywho got a 360 controller for this (and FIFA) and the difference is monumental (for the better). Controller is like meant for these kind of games.
Btw Im not familiar with F1, whats up with the practice laps when you start your career mode off?
Umm...dude do you see any other people on the forum talking about the game?! I am just really excited about the game and no one else seems to share the interest sars one or two people. It's good to know that there are other people.Maybe it is in the PC section that the game isn't really grabbing attention, but since I don't own a 360 I rarely venture into those parts of the forums man.You two are talking as if you're the only ones who know about formula 1 :S I play it too but on the Xbox 360. Quite an addictive game though the formula 1 challenge 99-02 on the pc was the best formula 1 game ever. This is good too. I play with ABS and TCS on in this and manual. And the damage and other settings on. And I play 44% of race length. The AI difficulty is set to professional. Currently at monaco. I just can't get the right setup for that track! I've increased the downforce quite a lot for better cornering but can't find the right balance.
If you are asking about a way to save game mid-race then I don't think that is possible. You just have to live by your mistakes in this game. And dude, just slug it out. Don't expect to stand at the podium with the initial teams. Just perform well and you'll climb the ladder in due time my friend.yar is there any any way to save the game while racing i really work hard to get the 10th spot but now races in singapore and other places are really making trouble for me.
With which team? One of the lower tier ones? If so then that's awesome. Btw which difficulty setting are you playing on?i have completed the first objective i finished the season 8th with williams car now i have contracted with renault and yeah you are right its quite impossible to finish at podium with low end cars but still i managed to podium finish 1st in the last race of 1st season abu dhabi race by chance.
Nope. They have a very valid case. The above video explains it all.Necrokiller said:It's based on an actual real life person so I don't think the woke police have a valid case here.
