so i salvaged a old harddisk from a broken laptop.....
it was a 2.5'' HDD IDE... 80 GB
and i bought a HDD enclosure to make a portable drive out of it..
Not when i connect he the HDD to my laptop, it successfully installed the drivers...
but when i open my computer to access the harddisk, it shows is as E:/ but is like constantly loading,
the green bar at the top keep on loading and never quite finishes (i am using windows 7)
if i try to access the drive, then ''my computer'' freezes, (Not Responding)....
when i unplugit, everything goes back to normal, i can feel the hdd working in the case.... buzzing, if i put my ear to it.
i have attached a screenshot, u can see the green bar loading, at the top, but there is still space left underneath the cross sign, and that is after 20 mins of loading..
UPDATE: i accidently, crossed out, ''my computer''
and clicked the icon again to see 2 drives instead if 1, i guess both represents the two partitions present on the hdd, as they were on my old laptop...
which means i am getting somewhere..
cant i just format it from somewhere else and merge the partitions?
attached a screenshot of that too...
Oh and i saw hard disk and can it be a mater/slave issue, there is current no jumper in that place.... the 4 pins ..... i kinda dont know how to explain
