Difference between 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen Laptops....[Help]

Hello Guys ,

Can any one from here clear me the difference between 2nd gen intel processors and 3rd gen ?
I am looking forward to buy a new laptop , So whats the better choice ? 3rd gen or 2nd gen ?

What would u guys say according to ur xperiances?

if u can wait a couple of months intel's 4th Gen processors will be releasing soon and they are gonna be a better buy than 2nd and 3rd gen when it comes to laptops as they will have a better iGPU chipset. Otherwise the 3rd Gen laptops will be better than 2nd Gen because ivy is more heat efficient and a slight better than Sandy (2nd Gen) and also has HD 3000 graphics which is alot better than the HD 2000 found in Sandy bridge also the price difference b/w most 2nd and 3rd gen laptops is minimal so go for the 3rd gen ones

sandy bridge has intel 3000 graphics not 2000,third gen has intel 4000 graphics

some sandy has HD 2000 too
Haswell is supposed to have HD 4600 HD5000

OP Ivy would be better buy
buy a one with dedicated GPU

But whats the difference b/w 3rd gen's processor speed 1.8 GHz Ivy Bridge and 2nd gen's 2.4GHZ?
