Diablo 3 Lags / High Latency Issues

Salam everyone,

From last couple of days I am facing high latency issue with D3 (600+ ms) and some worse spikes like 1100ms or so. It was running fine some days ago, so I am wondering what is gone wrong ? I am using PTCL 2M Connection and I am from Karachi, are you guys also facing same issues ? and what ISP are you using ? I asked fellow PGists (w00t and Jazzy) and they told me that they are getting good pings 256ms and 220ms respectively, the difference is both of them are not from Karachi and Jazzy is using LDN connection (Don't know about w00t's ISP, will check with him...)

After performing traceroute to Blizzard EU server I found that the problem occurs at telia.net servers where I begin to get RTOs. Now there are two possibilities that the problem lies at telia.net servers or our ISP. That is why I need more info before I give ISP or Blizzard some pounding. It is also possible that W00t's and Jazzy's ISP is taking a different route but still it does not tell whether the problem lies at telia.net servers or our ISP, so please post your ISP name and tracert information here. I would like to compare PTCL and non PTCL tracert info with my tracert info. Here is mine...

same here... karachi, ptcl... both WoW and Diablo have high latencies for the past 2 days or something

Thanks w00t for posting the comparison, you are also getting timed out after telia servers but you are getting good ping. I don't understand this :crying:

Thanks. Both WoW and Diablo means there is some problem on Blizzard's end as many other users on Battle.net are also complaining the same thing and they are from different locations.

Lots of dropped packets at that point so I just quit.

Yeah I am also thinking about just quitting, what a pathetic game... People from other parts of world are also facing this problem, the battle.net forums are filled with it.

I don't know I get Green Bars quit often and its always playable. Only time I get issues is when other people in my house start downloading something. It becomes unplayable then.

On a wireless connection btw. PTCL 4MB.

UPDATE:

Ok at 5:30 AM I again ran D3 and the latency issue got solved. I now have full green bar all the time (198 - 202 ping), but I still don't understand what fixed it ? does Blizz carried out some secret fix, telia fixed their servers or PTCL fixed something ?

I performed tracert again and it showed same results... I start getting RTO after telia servers so I think it is normal but the individual ping at each hop decreased considerably

I am going to check it again tommorow, and if it's PTCL issue then it might show problem again in day time.
