Hi Everyone..
I recently resigned from a stable company where I worked for more than 3 years as a Big Data Analyst (SSIS , .NET). In the last six months, I also switched myself to the web development side (Web analytics - developing a web infrastructure that would handle cloud based Data analysis). However I have noticed that in Pakistan it is quite a rare field. Though it pays well abroad but still I am getting a little frustrated with the local scene here regarding this new interesting CS sub-category.
I was planning to apply for Higher education but then somehow that plan did not work out due to finances and personal reasons.
Therefore looking for options as to whether I should switch to another subcategory of CS (Web / Mobile) or stick to the same and still look out for jobs? Switching would be the last resort though since I have gained a lot of experience in these last 3 years but then again one can't sit at home and do nothing. Also freelancing work is quite rare (Another disadvantage). Right now I am improving my skills by getting to know stuff related to Hadoop etc.
Suggestions would be welcome from all CS grads / undergrads.
