Asalam O Alaikum,

Me and my younger brother is playing “Counter Strike” on 2 different computers connected with “Wifi Router”, as we are playing it locally then it is working super but recently my 2 cousins requested to create a server on the internet so they can also join the game, here the problem starts, when I create a server through “Half-Life Dedicated Server” [please see the screen shot for reference] then me and my 2 cousins on different locations can join the game but my brother cannot find the server through “192.168.1.100:27015” or “External IP:27015”. I don’t understand the problem, can anyone please tell me how “Computer 2” can join?

Counter Strike 1.6 : Same installed on each and every computer.
Computer 1 : Me : Router 1 : Server : Playing
Computer 2 : Bro : Router 1 : Can’t add or find the server.
Computer 3 : Csn: Router 2 : Playing
Computer 4 : Csn : Router 3 : Playing

Please be noted I just open the port on my router and accepted the exception in firewall and I did not change anything else in the game or any file.

Me and my younger brother can play together if I create server through “ Counter Strike” in game. We both can play if we are the users and server is created else where.

kaleemakhter, run server in console mode and add +ip 192.168.1.100 +port 27015 at the end, this should fix your problem. See my sticky thread in this section for more information.

Why is this happening? When you run server and select "Internet" it forces the server to use 127.0.0.1 or localhost as your internal IP address, thus your brother can not add you using your router's IP address.

@Baghi, thank you for your reply, I have seen your sticky thread in this section, firstly please excuse me due to my knowledge about the server thing, I know that I have a big dream to come true, I wanted to play this game on LAN + Internet.

As far I have understand that I need to add this line in shortcut of hlds as you have described in your thread.

-console -game cstrike -insecure +ip XXX.XXX.X.X +map de_train +maxplayers 16 +port 27015 +sv_lan 0 +mapchangecfgfile "server.cfg" - See more at: http://www.pakgamers.com/forums/f16/[guide]-how-create-counter-strike-88417/#sthash.8A19edqo.dpuf
I am using 192.168.1.100:27015 so I will replace the XXX.XXX.X.X with my PC's ip address. Is this a good way to make everything work.

You're probably doing it wrong, did you try to remove quotation marks from the field? kaleemakhter
