Comparison B/W Dual core and Quad Core Cpus

Guys check this out a very good review about Cpu Scalling between Quad Core and Dual Core Cpu's

and by the looks of it i guess Quad core cpu at this time is way more expensive if we can have the similar performance with the low end Dual Core CPU.

I read that article a couple of days ago.
And i think that a quad-core is better.

See, at higher (16x12) resolutions, performance become completely dependent on the GPU.
If you can get a Q6600 and overclock it to 3.4GHz, i think that is enough clockspeed for games.

And we all know that Quad-Cores are better equipped to handle multitasking.

Even at lower res. (12x10) the difference is not that big.

EDIT: I agree with Ask, it's better to get four cores and overclock them then get the more expensive 2 cores that have higher stock clocks. (Q6600: 16,500 rs, E8400: 22, 400rs)

^ Umm E8400 is for 17k

E8500 is for 22.4

hmmm
kinda dis when i went thru the doc but this is only when the CPU is not limiting factor....if u can afford to spend 25 000 on a graphics card then the CPU has less of an effect but even with a 8800gt the CPU will make a diff....plus they have only used like 2 core 2 duo's and we alll that the e8400 is good for games and its potential but againt the older and even the new e7200 the quad sud be able to beat it....

Not really. According to that article, the Phenom X4 9850 actually outperformed the Q6600 in some cases. It's a pretty good value too since it's around $190-210 at most retails.

^ Yes but generally AMD's Triple and Quad-core processors have failed to impress.
Their triple core procs are inferior to similarly priced dual-core procs from Intel.
