Chrome Lagging like crazy with 16gb ram. Please help.

My chrome browser started acting up yesterday. Once I turn on my laptop from a shutdown (not from sleep), chrome works fine for a few minutes, sometimes 5 and sometimes 10. Then it lags a LOT. websites load very slow, even typing lags. Even the setting panel or bookmarks panel lags with approx 0.3 sec delay after every 0.3 seconds. It basically turns into a pulse. Lag, work, lag, work.

The issue does not appear on Edge.

I have tried turning off the hardware acceleration option and it hasn't worked.

My laptop is 2014 Dell XPS 15. Core i7, 16gb ram, 512 ssd.

Please help. I tried importing my passwords to Edge but it didn't work but even if it had, I still want chrome to work lag free.

Delete all cookies ,web history everything from chrome . If it still gives problem . Install avg pc tune .it will let you tune your pc for free for one time .it will automatically solve any problem .

bro, it shouldn't be chrome or your ram, it must be your laptop charger when ever my charger mess up laptop lags too hard chrome wouldnt even load, just check if your charger is properly working

If you installed any extensions in chrome. delete them all and then delete chrome and fresh reinstall.

Had you not mentioned ssd I would have said the paging file was causing this but it seems you will need to do a clean reinstall of chrome from the looks of it. Do backup bookmarks. Try running CPUZ before launching chrome see what's happening to the processor during this time when the lag occurs.
