NINTENDO Can I update modded Wii?

Hey, I just got the US version Wii yesterday in Karachi (from Sasi Arcade). I have since connected it to my wi-fi network and its working fine. Just want to know if I can 'system update' it which is required to see the wii shopping channel, or the other updates that are in my inbox? Or will that brick it?

My firmware is 3.1U.

I assume the same mods must be in use in Karachi... so if anyone has any experience with this? And if it bricks it, is there a way to go back?

Also, I guess you need to update to add other channels.

Hmmm... Okay, how do I find out which mod chip I have, as there are people on the web with different experiences on it. What modchip is used mostly in Karachi or will I have to open up the Wii to find out?

Hey, based on the serial number and a phone call to the 'workshop' in Saddar who mod, they said it's got the 'unhackable' D2C chip, and apparently the only hack that works on it is the D2CKey. So if anyone else has a similar model and have upgraded to 3.2U, please let me know the feedback, as currently my Wii Shopping Channel isn't working and I really want to have Internet and other channels on it. Plus, Mario Galaxy is not working, probably due to old firmware.

    So i just found out that f***ing s***bag Microsoft shut down Arkane Studio (makers of the brilliant Dishonored series) and Tango Gameworks (makers of the iconic The Evil Within series), among some other studios.     Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
