Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's launch has been a bit of a strange one this year. The promised Day Zero editions essentially amounted to CoD: AW coming out a day early, which means it's available to download right now on Steam, despite officially releasing tomorrow. As per any Call of Duty release, Activision's latest Hollywood-style blockbuster came with some hefty system requirements to get Sledgehammer Games' debut look its finest. Despite Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's terrifying system requirements, there's an absolute stack of customisable video options to play around with.
On first impressions Advanced Warfare certainly doesn't look like a hastily thrown together PC port, this time around we look to be getting the real deal. If you've just splashed out on the latest and greatest graphics card, or you're skating dangerously near the minimum requirements for CoD:AW, then these video options and settings screens show you what sort of graphical bells and you whistles you can play with when you boot up Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

  • Post Process Anti-Aliasing
  • Supersampling
[h=4]Shadow Preload[/h]

[h=4]Miscellaneous Options[/h]
  • Bullet Impacts
  • Dynamic Light Limit

As you can see there's absolutely stacks here to mess around with, particularly for those who've got the likes of a GeForce GTX 450 or a Radeon HD 5870. The first things you're going to want to tweak are the extremely superfluous items like Bullet Impacts and reducing the Dynamic Lights, while of course HBAO+ and in fact most of the Post Process settings will be heavy going. It's also best to turn off Shadow Cache, both Cache Sun Shadow Maps and Cache Sport Shadow Maps, because these are causing a number of problems, including over-riding to Low quality textures, so we'd expect an update to sort that out.
One thing to bear in mind is that fiddling around with the Texture Quality and Texture Resolution in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will force the entire level to reload right from the start, so for your sanity it's probably best tweaking at the beginning of a campaign level.
Keep your eyes peeled on Game Debate within the coming days, where we'll be sure to bring you our Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare review and of course benchmarks across a host of different systems!
What do you make of these in-depth options for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare? Have you given Activision's latest shooter a go yet, how's your performance? Let us know below!

    Phil should be held responsible for this shitfest too, just like Sarah, but it's highly likely that these decisions are coming from Satya. And this isn't even the end of it. More closures are coming.

    if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

    They could've sold the studios instead of closing them, but the nazi bastards just didn't want competition down the road.

    So i just found out that f***ing s***bag Microsoft shut down Arkane Studio (makers of the brilliant Dishonored series) and Tango Gameworks (makers of the iconic The Evil Within series), among some other studios. I just want to say a giant F*** Y**! to Microsoft. THEY'VE F***ED UP BIG TIME this time.

    Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
