Hi guys I want to purchase an SSD for my laptop. Which SSD I should go for as there are many Kingston, Transcend, Patriot, Corsair, and what are one's benefit over the other.

I am hearing praises of new Patriot Blast here on PG, but over the internet I can't really find many reviews because it seems a re-branded product.

And Yea I know - NO KINGSTON:p

Thank You all in advance.

Depends on your budget and the amount of warranty you want for your SSD. Currently, Patriot offers the best price and also has 3 years warranty that's why it's been very popular.
Besides that, I'd suggest you go for Intel latest series SSD.

Corsair, Samsung etc. come on the expensive side but if money is no concern then sure go for it.

Hey, thanks.

My budget is Max 11K and sadly Samsung and Intel costs more.

I need opinions among Transcend, Patriot, Corsair and other brands if available here.

Go Patriot, eyes closed. You are not going to get the other two in this rate.

However, there's another option that I have been keeping my eye on for a long time

Silicon Power S60 240GB MLC SATA III 6.0 Gb./s SSD (3 Years Warranty) Price in PAkistan - HomeShopping.pk

If you are switching from HDD, buying any SDD would make a hell lot of difference for you so you don't have to look for the puny 5-10mb read/write speed differences

Patriot indeed has amazing read/write speed but the real test is what happens a year from now or two years from now and I suspect anybody is running Patriot for this time frame?

Silicon is indeed a fine option and I will look for reviews as well.

It would be lot easier for us Pakistani to get our hands on Samsung and other brands with decent International prices if not for our crap policies. You can get a Samsung Galaxy on quite same prices but when it comes to SSD boom - the prices are almost double if I am not wrong.

@Tech Reaper Thanks for endorsing Patriot!

@Zasmain You probably haven't found much information about the Patriot Blast, since it was released very recently. However Patriot has a longstanding name in the Flash storage and memory market (internationally).

You can see the reviews of the 240GB Blast on Newegg: Patriot Blast 2.5" 240GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) PBT240GS25SSDBK - Newegg.com

We do have a 3 year warranty that covers pretty much everything other than physical damage.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Hey DSM!,

Thanks, yup I saw Newegg reviews earlier and that's the reason I am curious because I can't find any other place which has Patriot Blast reviews etc.

Well, I haven't did lots of research but, the word is "Kingston 300 don't perform upto the advertised speeds due to low quality components".
Ohh absolutely not also I bought it for like 8k so no regretsm Had ocz vertex 3 before and there is no difference in bench and real performance.

There has been huge demand for SSD in the local market I wonder why any distributor doesn't bring in Samsung or Sandisk SSD with official prices and warranty in Pakistan ? When in the international market they are pretty much equivalent in prices of other brands. Samsung is the market leader people will buy their SSD eyes closed if offered at a competitive price . I really wish to know whats holding the distributors back in introducing these products ?

You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
