But Gamefaqs/Gamespot is possibly the worst place to coexist. Surely you aren't implying that we should stoop down to their level, are you?

Sorry, had to say that. Firstly, let me make something very clear;
no one will ever ban you for expressing your opinion. I'm getting sick of newbies posting and leaving a footnote 'please don't ban me, it's just my opinion'. We will never ban you for something like that. Bans are only -
and only - given to people who either a) use profane language/have a bad mouth, b) don't listen to mods/admin's warnings when they are given, and c) are spambots/adbots/computer programs.
So, stop worrying. You will not get banned unless you do one of the said above.
Do you realize what fanboyism associates to? Fanboyism is the gaming equivalent of extremism and neither are appreciated here on PG. You have the right to express your opinions as much as everyone else, but keep it under the limits you're given. If you don't agree with the rules, why join? I think when you register to these forums, you are asked whether you agree with the rules or not. And if you're posting this right now, you obviously haven't read the rules, have you?
Go back and do so right now.
I haven't seen a mod ever go off-topic. If there is any, report about them to the admin. The rules apply to everyone and if you see a mod going off-topic and spamming, simply report them, mm'k? Don't shy out, just speak whatever you feel. Even if a mod's strutting their power around, you should report them.
Mods will warn you for going off-topic when you do go off-topic. You have to listen to them because this, as a community, will never work otherwise. There are so many other Pakistani communities out there with no structure, responsibility, or respect for rules and we don't want to be included among those. You must do whatever you're told because that's why everyone's given ranks and you have to respect that system.
Fanboyism is not allowed because it starts console wars, which become personal and lead to flame wars, and then to bitterness among everyone. That is to say, if your messages go something like 'Well, PS3 is brilliant, end of story' or 'Xbox can kick PS3's arse any day' without any legit reason to support it. However, if you go ahead to carry out an intelligent discussion without any sort of foul language, unverified claims and so on, you are very welcome to do so.
