After buying 6800GT years ago and getting Avg performace at best! I lost my interest in PC gaming but after 1-2 years PC is full of all these gr8 games and while i wont get 4870 for 20K+ but 4850 at 13-14K will be ideal! i want it now! Its like price of 9600GT for performance beyond 8800GT! yeah!

the temperatures of 4870 aren't good as well, seeing that it was benchmarked in a room with 21'C temp and it went to 87'C @ load easily.
What would happen if it is run in a room with 36'C temp. the card will surely reach 105+.
Nonetheless the performance is just great for the price.

I'm waiting... They said that the second gen, dual-slot and over-clocked version of the 4850 will come in the second week of July.
It will be BETTER than the 9800GTX+ A LOT better. (Even the stock version is at times better)

its main competitor is 9800 gtx and overall they r on par, in some test 9800 gtx takes the lead and in other 4850 takes the crown.....so if u r an ati fan then go for it right away.....at price point, they both now fall in the same range i.e. sub $200.....
Its pwns 9800GTX, that is why the GTX got a massive price drop (270 => 200)
Now nVIDIA's gonna release 9800GTX+ (an overclocked 9800 with 55nm mfg process).
The 4850 was even better than the GTX+ in most games
Still, they are gonna release an OCed 4850 (dual-slot) that will pwn the GTX+.

I have heard that it is now unplayable in countries which do not support handful of third world countries not recognized by Sony like Pakistan. Steam is a true global platform.Then they cry that console gaming is dying. -

You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.iampasha said: -
