PC Assassin's Creed 2: Why the need to change ancestor?

So i finally decided to play assassin's creed series and i have a question.

Why the needed to change altair to ezio in second game. i mean if they wanted Desmond to learn abilities of assassin then why not do it from altair. why use subject 16 memory to do it?

i know from manufacturers point of view they needed to change environment but from story line point?

Cause it's actually Ezio who keeps the Apple of Eden. And the assassins need the apple so they follow ezio instead of Altair.

Desmond is going to recreate the memories of all its importatn ancestors irrespective of time period in History. In AC3, Desmond will follow a story of another ancestor.

Plus Ezio is way cooler then Altiar. You will love the guy in the end.

wait a minute, i started second game and they only say that we want to train you (desmond) to be an assassin. And for that we will access memory from disk thingy they stole from original animus.

why go to trouble of stealing memories of another assassin when they have perfectly fine memories of altair.
or did they already know that ezio had the knowledge of piece of eden so they used his memories? killing two birds in 1 stone? training and finding?

Well I think Ezio was a better candidate for Desmond to turn him into an assassin, His training and all from a normal ladies man to a fully grown awesome assassin was a better opurtunity for desmond to learn the assassins skills. Also they needed to know about Apple of eden and all and Ezio kept it so they followed him.
P.S Assassins creed 2 is my favourite in the series, have finished it three times, simply love it especially the WTF!!! ending^_^

from what i hear ezio learns about apple from altar too.right or wrong?

and i still am at starting of second game so don't know about his training but altair was trained as an assassin all his life too. i hate plot holes especially in good stories and this one is just bugging me alot.

why the need to steal another persons memory put it in animus and make him relive it instead of his own.? training not a big advantage and location of pieces also known through altair just don't see the point of it

Well look.. the way I see it is that the main story is in the modern times and since Altairs techniques and stuff might become obsolete and in ezios time period.. its relatively much more advanced technology.. so desmond can learn more things from ezio than altair.

You will realize everything when you will end Revelations.

The reason was not only the training, but also to find Apple of Eden about which you will learn more as you play the game ! (sm1)
