No I did not, or at least while I was doing my degree I didn't. Later on I had an offer but the did not avail that. Are you applying for undergrad or post grad?

If you are going, can you tell us a bit more about how you got in the uni?
I applied on university's website. Plus my university from where I did BSc had MOU with Strathclyde.

Ask away I'm an alumni of UofG and can answer any queries in my free time.

Sorry for the late reply. Didn't know anyone had posted on this thread. I applied through one of the University representatives in Lahore back in 2008. I did my postgrad in Accounting & Finance. Monthly expenses are considerably cheaper than the rest of the UK. I'll give you a breakdown of what my expenses were at least at my time.

Rent - 230 Pounds per month for a shared flat (at least in my case). University accommodation can be very expensive, if you want to save then try finding a flat in the private sector. University accommodation starts from around 400 pounds and can go up to 600 pounds per month. The upside is that you get to meet a lot of people from around the world.
Utility Bill - approximately 80 pounds per month for electricity and 70-80 pounds (quarterly) for other utilities.
Food - 80-120 Pounds this can vary from person to person. If you can cook your own food you can really cut down on costs.
Internet - If you plan on getting your own connection 24 pounds per month for 10MB connection (prices may have reduced by now)
Traveling - There are a number of flats to let nearby Strathclyde and your commuting cost will depend on the distance from the campus, you can easily walk around with no worries and it will be a lot more fun.

The costs might be a bit off like i said. If you need any specifics let me know.

Do you think going UK for MSc was a wise decision?
After your MSc, how was your job search?
