Earlier i had made a thread "The Heat wave: Cpu to Gpu"

Well, just a few days ago my gpu developed artifacts mid-game.Restarting the PC only made my fear come true.

It's strange that both the Motherboard and GPU are compatible,500MW psu and still this happened. At first i thought it was my mobo's problem, coz i couldnt update the bios, but the next day after my gpu burned; it updated.Aside from speedfan showing a few extra temp values. The CPU and mobo temperatures remain the same.

So i need some advice if i should get a new gpu with or without changing the mobo.
Im thinking of getting GTS220-240 or 9800gt

what is your total budget for graphics card ?
I can manage 7-9k

Go for a used or new GTS250 atleast. Nvidia 9 series days are over
Not really.Considering how my 9600gso performed and the response i'd get from people when i'd tell em about my card. So if needed,i can get even the lowest gpu (or one having the same parameters as 9600gso; that's why i listed GT220)
What concerns me more is not the gpu's performance but which one will 'live longer' than mine did. And should i change my mobo or not?

changing the mobo wont really affect the durability of the card. just dont get an xfx if you get an equally priced alternative
