Though I really don't know whether not signing in from 17th May onwards saves us....I mean what if MS had been tracking all those that log in to Live from way before and had been saving IDs of the modded consoles....what if they only decided to coincide the ban with the Halo 3 beta so that their servers wouldn't crash with a lot more ppl trying to download the beta than expected (via pirated copies of Crackdown)

Hence, I could very well still be banned even though I didn't go on Live from the day the Halo 3 beta rolled out....:|

nah , that would be really really surprising. if that were the case everyone would have been banned but as you can see lotsa people with modded consoles havent been banned yet. i guess theyre using some threshold , like 4 hours of pirated online play = ban.

dont go online till the new firmware comes out.halo 2 caused the banning of xbox1s. halo3 beta is the warm-up to the 360 ban hammer.

True, they knew that Halo 3 was the major draw for every Xbox 360 owner....whether he's modded his console or not....and a vast majority of the modders would quickly jump to Live once it's out

Who knows, maybe that first ever free XBLA game 'Aegis Wing' was also another way to get as many ppl on Live....I mean, when was the last time MS offered a free XBLA game to its users!
