After Effects What should I know

So I've worked a bit on after effects. I'm kinda slow but I have completed like two of my home projects. I was wondering if there is any way to learn and work on this for companies or something. As a part-time job maybe.

Guide me on any tutorials or software I should combine. Somebody told me I should get a hold of Illustrator and Photoshop too, if I really wanna work for video making. Any ideas?
